With a spinal block
do you get pain / sensitivity in your back when it’s touched? If anyone so much as brushes past my back it sends a sharp unbearable pain through me. It’s just really sensitive.

anyone else?

I’ve had 4 spinal blocks and nope, nothing like this. I’d get it checked out as any damage to the spine can be potentially dangerous.

Withthewind · 13/07/2022 23:13

@Ifigotherewillbedouble DS is almost 4, I had a back massage about a year ago and I do remember my back being extremely sensitive and the massage was quite painful. Odd

Merryoldgoat · 13/07/2022 23:16

No, I had two, 9 & 4 years ago. No sensitivity at all in my back.

StillRunningWithScissors · 13/07/2022 23:19

Almost 13 yes ago for me, no pain.
Hope you can get seen/have it sorted

Carrie76 · 13/07/2022 23:19

I’ve had 3 no sensitivity in my back, doesn’t sound right. Hope you get sorted

MissAtomicBomb1 · 13/07/2022 23:20

No.
2 sections and nothing like that.

FlyingPandas · 13/07/2022 23:21

Three C sections with spinal block here and never experienced anything like this with any of them I’m afraid. I don’t remember any particular sensitivity at all.

Probably worth getting it checked out OP. How long since the section?

GAW19 · 13/07/2022 23:23

I've had two and the only thing I've had since is a numb patch about the size on my fist on my bum cheek haha
Please get it checked out, it really doesn't sound right x

Withthewind · 13/07/2022 23:25

@FlyingPandas nearly 4 years, Emergency due to baby in distress, no major complications apart from baby needing a little oxygen and I was anemic.

it’s like, say if I sat on the sofa, the corner of a cushion just touching my lower back would be extremely uncomfortable. It’s not pain as such, but like someone scratching your eyeball.
doesn’t hurt or ache normally

BiscoffSundae · 13/07/2022 23:25

2 sections and no I can’t relate to this

ScarlettOHaraHamiltonKennedyButler · 13/07/2022 23:26

Nope, also had two and nothing like this.

Louise0701 · 13/07/2022 23:28

I’ve had 3 and have never experienced anything like this.

easyday · 13/07/2022 23:29

I've had two and no particular sensitivities there, though my very lower back hurts if I get pressure on my spine from a massage.

WouldYouIfYouCould · 13/07/2022 23:30

No, but if I carry anything heavy my legs feel like jelly and I think it’s a compressed nerve. Never had it before c-section.

Maray1967 · 14/07/2022 00:00

No, I haven’t experienced anything like that in the years since I had my c section.

Delphinium20 · 14/07/2022 00:02

I had one section and yes, I had that pain and sensitivity for about one year. It has gone away and never returned (almost 18 years ago!).

ljdxxx · 14/07/2022 00:09

Had a c section 8 months ago with a spinal block, had had a weird sensation in my left bum cheek and my coccyx was In agony after mine. But totally normal now

Kisskiss · 14/07/2022 00:14

I had one 6 months ago and never experienced anything like what you’re describing,, mine was an emergency one too .. I think you should ask to get it checked as back injuries are no joke

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 14/07/2022 00:15

No I had nothing like that at all. I can't remember any weird sensation once it had worn off and years later, no.

ThreeLittleDots · 14/07/2022 00:19

Nerve damage is rare but real. The consent form should have advised that temporary nerve damage is present in 1 in 1000 cases, with permanent nerve damage in 1 in 13,000 cases. I would talk to your GP in the first instance.

ChubbyButt · 14/07/2022 01:28

I haven't had a c-section but I did have some lumbar punctures (which are fairly similar to an epidural). One lumbar puncture in particular was spectacularly fucked up and left me with pain like you're describing. I'd recommend seeing your GP but I'd also recommend seeing a private GP too if you can afford to.

mortaggar · 14/07/2022 08:56

I had a few issues with back pain- couldn't bend over for long (giving DC a bath) or stand for very long but after 6-7 months, I was back to my pre-pregnancy normal self.

Ray92 · 14/07/2022 09:12

I had an epidural 7 weeks ago and I get a weird uncomfortable sensation at times.
Midwives and HV said it wasn't unusual and should go in time.

AppleKatie · 14/07/2022 09:16

I had a numb area on my stomach for a few years after mine but no pain and it’s gone now.

ecnatsid · 14/07/2022 09:17

For the first couple of months after I had the baby I felt uncomfortable in my lower back if I'd sat down for too long, occasional shooting my
Pain down my leg but nothing serious.
I've had 2 sections within 20 months of each other
