NC'd for obvious reasons...

Day 2 post surgery and I'm spaced out on painkillers and feel like there is a hot poker up my bum. Guessing this is normal?!

Can I ask for your experiences on recovery? How long until you were feeling "normal" again?

Hi OP I'm booked in for this in a couple of weeks would you mind giving me a detailed run down of what happened where you awake how long did it take when could you go home ?
First bowel movement ?
I'm so nervous that it's going to make things worse as I've read horror stories
Mine are external and caused by pregnancy I don't have any pain at all now when nit pregnant but planning another child atleast if lucky enough but will be sections and I just don't really want piles hanging out my arse for the rest of my life but feel bad having it done when they aren't actually painful ?!
hope you are feeling better now ?

Week 1, lots of painkillers and alcohol, get a sitz bath, it's really good for relief and use hot water, it soothes the area and after a BW keep the area clean, use water not toilet tissue
Week 2 was a huge improvement, carry on drinking lots of water and rest
After week 2 I didnt need the sitz, twinges of pain but nothing dramatic
On week 5 the area is back to normal.
Hope you feel better 🙏

The first week is the worst, I found in the second week I was able to get out and about without too much discomfort. Just take things easy and don’t overdo it. Did they give you plenty of laxatives?

@Ouch4321 and @mrssunshinexxx , if you’re still around can I ask how your recoveries have gone? (and any more tips for recovery!) I’m likely to be booked in for this soon and am really nervous. Have got to the point where there’s no other option though 😬

mrssunshinexxx · 01/11/2022 20:19

I'm afraid I bottled it @Ouch4321 the recovery jsut seemed too brutal when I don't have any support with 2 young kids will revisit when they are at school x

I posted a detailed account(!) here www.mumsnet.com/talk/relationships/4558039-deflated-pilesskin-tags-affecting-sex-life?page=2

MsMelody · 01/11/2022 22:02

That sounds sensible @mrssunshinexxx, especially with young kids. I would love to put this off even longer but it’s affecting my life too much now.

MsMelody · 01/11/2022 22:06

@oviraptor21, thanks for the link! Did you have skin tags removed or piles? I’ve got several internals which need to be removed and some connected skin tags/piles from childbirth. Absolutely dreading it 😭
