To think NASS need to refund these festival-goers?

So yesterday NASS announced there’d be no shuttle buses to/from the nearest rail station which is 90 mins walk away from the site. They said not to therefore travel there by train as it would not be possible to walk on the roads as they aren’t suitable. But no refunds for festival tickets are available! Coaches are sold out. My daughter and her friend literally have no way of getting there other than by train, so they won’t be able to go yet can’t get a refund. I think it’s outrageous- aibu?

Did they previously promise shuttle buses?

KrisAkabusi · 06/07/2022 14:53

You are being unreasonable, because they haven't said they won't do refunds. If you look at the website, there's a specific question "I can’t get to NASS any other way you’ve listed – can I have a ticket refund?"
A - There are various other ways you can get to NASS festival including carshare, drop offs and Big Green Coach direct travel, which we advise you to explore. If you’re not able to travel to NASS festival, please get in touch with us via [email protected]

So get in touch!

I have never been to a festival hat offers free shuttle buses, was that part of the ticket price

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 06/07/2022 14:56

I've had a look at their website, it's doesn't actually say no refunds, what response did you get via the email address?

Sirzy · 06/07/2022 14:58

Was the ticket sold with a promise of transfers?

greenacrylicpaint · 06/07/2022 15:01

90 min walk is what, 4 miles?

get a builder's trolly for tent & stuff.
or get a taxi from the train station.

Grumpybutfunny · 06/07/2022 15:01

They could get a taxi or Uber from the station. They are organising a car share site.

BlanketsBanned · 06/07/2022 15:02

Where are they travelling from, the green bus has 21 pick up locations, are national xpress running a service

coffeecupsandfairylights · 06/07/2022 15:03

Can't they get a taxi?

Overthebow · 06/07/2022 15:04

Was there supposed to be shuttle buses included in the price?

gamerchick · 06/07/2022 15:08

I suppose you're going to say they can't get a taxi either.

YaWeeGobshite · 06/07/2022 15:20

Shuttle buses are promised - still - on the website but have been cancelled due to lack of drivers. That’s what people getting trains usually rely on. Big Green Coach is fully booked

YaWeeGobshite · 06/07/2022 15:22

Shuttle buses - small fee payable
on board. I kind of assumed the local rural taxis wouldn’t be able to cope with the volume of people arriving? My daughter has emailed, I’ll keep you updated. Thanks for all the suggestions

Has your daughter and her friends actually emailed them and requested the refund?
They are not going to refund everyone automatically as they have no idea who planned to use the shuttles or not.

YaWeeGobshite · 06/07/2022 15:25

She has signed up for the waitlist for Big Green coach

motogirl · 06/07/2022 15:28

You can get within 15 minutes by taking a public bus from castle Cary train station

YaWeeGobshite · 06/07/2022 15:34

@motogirl thanks - I’ll get her to look into that 👍🏻

@purplecorkheart yes but only today

@gamerchick could they? I don’t know…It’s from Castle Cary…seems like a tiny rural place? Do you know it? Would there be taxis able to take all the festival-goers? And return at 3am? (It’s a day ticket they’ve bought)

The website does say not to walk as it's not suitable, I wont let my child walk that distance with a trolley in who knows what weather. I live faiy rurally and it would be madness to do that on some roads around me

YaWeeGobshite · 06/07/2022 15:53

She has received a standard email saying they are receiving a high number of emails and giving answers to FAQs. It doesn’t address the issue of the cancelled shuttle buses. She’s waiting for a proper reply.

Is it at the Bath and West showground? If so that's more than a 90 minute walk and it is very hilly.

YaWeeGobshite · 06/07/2022 16:16

@TimBoothseyes yes
