To think a lot of parenting is so shit?

Been on holiday for a week so have been watching and involved with loads of kids and families. So many Disney dads taking their kid to the toy shop to bribe them into behaving.

You sound like you’re having fun!

i disagree
single parent. Two older primary. And I love being a parent and do not relate to what you’re saying at all.

as for your random dad point - some good dads, some shit dads. Same as mums

Yes we are having a great time, hard not to at Sani Club!

Was just an observation upon watching the latest meltdown for a new toy.

I often need a holiday to recover from a holiday with my kids 🥲

Haha!

Come here, it's fab! Apart from the odd spoiled brat

Do you have kids?

luxxlisbon · 20/06/2022 09:11

Parents trying to have a good time on holiday, the horror.

I remember getting new toys on holidays. It can be hard to keep kids happy and occupied for a week or two away from home in a small apartment.

You hardly know enough to label them ‘Disney dads’.

I also disagree that a lot of parenting is shit. But then again I chose to have a child and I enjoy spending time with her.

Yes. Two.

Pretty sure this is the definition of shit parenting, not fathers buying their own children toys on a holiday they presumably arranged for as well:

That's a pretty low bar

Yes. Two.

So why are you so judgemental?

Reallybadidea · 20/06/2022 09:24

You took your kids out of school to go on holiday? Tut.

It is lovely !

loads of Russians. Different style of parenting, that is for sure

SandyWedges · 20/06/2022 09:27

Are parents not allowed to buy their kids toys now?

My children are 4.5 years and 5 months so no need to inform the authorities just yet

That's exactly what I said wasn't it.

And focus on yourself instead of watching other families and judging them.

3WildOnes · 20/06/2022 09:29

I can't get my knickers in a twist about a bit of bribery. I'll save my judgement for the parents I see screaming at their kids, ignoring them or roughly handling them.

Gogster · 20/06/2022 09:30

Our children are all playing together, so it's directly affecting me.

A dad buying their kid a toy on holiday is not Disney dadding. Disney dadding is doing this bit but not doing any of the harder parts. How do you know they are not doing the harder parts?

Gogster · 20/06/2022 09:31

Snatching, not sharing etc.

Is this a stealth boast or some kind of ad?

MassiveSalad22 · 20/06/2022 09:33

Hmm I mean there’s not a ton for kids to do at Sani Club itself other than the pool and little playground so shop makes a nice change sometimes. The shop was utterly extortionate though so I would more worry about the terrible value for money they are getting rather than that they’re treating their kids 😄
