Surely dog barking annoys the owners too?

Standard stuff for summer - doors and windows all open, live on an estate etc Lots of dog barking. Not RSPCA worthy barking just on / off all evening.

Do dog owners just tune it out?

Neighbours are in the garden with dogs on either side in the garden with them barking and don't even stop their conversations or sigh in an irritated fashion that I would have thought or tell them off etc (gardens very close, I can hear everything at the moment) - do you just not hear it if you own dogs or maybe barking noise doesn't bother dog owners in the same way?

Neighbour's dog barks continually every time I use my washing line. Drives me mad and they never say a word to it

This thread has reminded me of when we were in the Canaries a couple of weeks ago. Oh my word, the dogs bark and howl incessantly through the night. They howl like wolves to each other and apparently this is normal in the more local areas. It has made me think twice about booking a local Airbnb in future. Even the kids complained and nothing wakes them usually!

My neighbour got a lockdown dog-never walks it and it just sits in the garden barking away
the other dogs across the road hear it and bloody join in!
he might give a wet ‘pack it in’ if he hears us in our garden but he seems to leave it on its own most of the time-over the road are just as bad
so that’s one lab and two staffs just yapping all bloody day
its starting to annoy everyone and I know of at least two other neighbours that have had words-with no joy
same entitled twat let’s his kids scream all summer in their garden which means we can’t use ours as the noise is deafening-kids go to bed,him and his mates get pissed-loudly
im thinking of complaining to the council as I’ve had enough-it’s almost 11pm and they are still doing their song of their people with nobody training them to stop

(he had the bloody cheek to whinge behind our backs a few weeks ago when we had a friends dog to stay-this dog never barks unless he sees his enemy-pigeons-he barked twice before we had chance to move and grab him-neighbour was heard moaning about it!two barks in over a week)
