To not want dirty packages left on my pillow

Had a very long day - drop off and pickup to school, haircuts for both the kids, cooked for everyone all while working from home. Partner is sick but able to look after DD2 while I try to get some work done. All in all a very trying day - this heat isn't helping, and I still have a few hours of work to catch up on.

The straw that broke the camels back - I snapped at having a dirty package put on my side of the bed. This package had been hidden outside on a neighbour's porch, where God knows what has been, and it's been dumped on my pillow. Of course, I'm the only one that can change the bed sheets because DP can't ever manage to do the bed sheet properly or the quilt.

Someone tell me it's not unreasonable to scream

I really thought this was going to be something else. hahaha

Yes yanbu I would be pissed off.

IncompleteSenten · 17/06/2022 19:43

Not at all. Who thought your pillow was a good place to put it?

heldinadream · 17/06/2022 19:43

Has it left visible dirt? If not just turn the pillow over. And anyway you'd only need to change a single pillowcase not the whole bedding.

Me too.
Many years ago I had a cat who would leave me a dirty protest on my pillow if I went away.

mrsmalcolmreynolds · 17/06/2022 19:44

That would be an overreaction (I'd just dust the pillow off and turn it over!) but we all need an unreasonable scream from time to time at the end of a long day/week!

gamerchick · 17/06/2022 19:44

Tell him to change your pillowcase for being a dick.

Coughee · 17/06/2022 19:44

You screamed?? Yabu. Pointing out that it wasn't the best place for it, fair enough but screaming? And couldn't you have just changed the pillow case?

BingeBitch · 17/06/2022 19:45

Rub some coffee grounds on his pillow and put the package on it. He’ll think it’s shit 🤣

beepbeephello · 17/06/2022 19:45

100% thought someone had been pooing on your pillow and was outraged for you. Slightly disappointed now tbh!!

worraliberty · 17/06/2022 19:45

Just swap it with his pillow and make sure he practices his bed making skills in future.

JuneJubilee · 17/06/2022 19:47

Complete over reaction

Ask WTF it was put on your pillow, change the pillow case & have a cold drink.

Haha you've got to love cats. Mine would do it in the suitcase just before I put my stuff in.

SingleMomIreland · 17/06/2022 19:59

YANBU This drives me nuts. My brothers a postman and they quite often get used needles or dirty sanitary products in the boxes at pick up time.

When someone leaves post/parcels on my draining board or kitchen counter it's all I can think of. Disgusting.

It's be a full bed change for me too.

RenegadeMatron · 17/06/2022 20:02

Out of everywhere in the house, it was put on your pillow?

Why?

scrivette · 17/06/2022 20:03

DH did this yesterday, he couldn't understand why I was annoyed either. I am not even fussy about changing sheets normally.

PurpleButterflyWings · 17/06/2022 20:06

Nice click bait title. Hmm

WishILivedInThrushGreen · 17/06/2022 20:07

This has got to be the stupidest post I've seen in a very long time.

Charlize43 · 17/06/2022 20:07

Do you mean like Royal Mail or is 'Dirty Package' something else?

Sorry, my mum always said I had an over imaginative mind, and just wanted some clarity on this as I'm getting an assortment of mental images...

WishILivedInThrushGreen · 17/06/2022 20:07

Turn the pillow over if your so precious.

HashtagShitShop · 17/06/2022 20:13

I get you. I kept having my handbag that had been out and about and on the floor, put on my bed, occasionally with piles of clean washing beside. I couldn't get mad because they were helping me but I kept asking them to just leave it on the floor if they insisted on doing it when they would for a short while but then started putting it on my bed again.

It only got through and stopped it happening when I snapped a little about it when it happened during the pandemic early periods when we were all at a loss for what to do and what it might be on.

Thankfully hasn't happened since 👍🏻

Beelezebub · 17/06/2022 20:15

Dirty as in actual dirt on it that then left dirt on your pillow, or a parcel that isn’t as pristine as a just cleaned kitchen surface because, you know, it’s a parcel?

Either way, why would you change the whole bed in this heat? Just put a clean pillowcase on.

CuriousCatfish · 17/06/2022 20:16

I wouldn't give a toss tbh.

Pastaa · 17/06/2022 20:17

It was a silly place but I guess he wanted to make sure you saw the package . It's not worth flipping over. Flip the pillow instead. It'll be a sweaty night anyway and sheets due a change again by tomorrow.
