To eat chicken and egg together?

I make jar salads for work - this week I've got cucumber, tomto, lettuce, boiled egg and diced chicken breast

3 difficult colleagues have commented that it's weird to eat chicken and egg in the same meal

It's never occurred to me - am I weird / normal?

I do quite often, but then I try to eat high protein so maybe that's odd for others!

How long do jar salads last before they go soggy please?

Have they not ever heard of chicken fried rice?

There’s a lush Japanese rice dish called oyakodon which is chicken and onions simmered in broth then egg scrambled into it and poured over rice. It literally translates as mother and child rice and it’s yum.

4 days - I make them on a Sunday and eat them through Monday - Thursday

Dressing or coleslaw on the bottom. Lettuce at the top

I had the same lunch as you today, so don't consider it strange at all . Protein keeps me fuller for longer.

Cobb salad has chicken and hard boiled egg. There was a Chinese restaurant here that had a dish with chicken and eggs, I don't remember what it was, but they called it "Mother and Child Reunion," which I found a little off-putting. But chicken and egg together in a salad or similar is perfectly normal.

I genuinely couldn't get over how surprised People were to see the 2 things together in a lunch!

Chicken omelette is delicious for a kick off.

Putting chicken on pizza on the other hand.. that is seriously sick behaviour.

When we make breaded chicken at home we dip it in egg before breadcrumbing. Egg washing a chicken pie? Or doesn’t that count because the egg isn’t visible?

To keep kosher though, I believe you can’t combine meat and milk.

I hate workplaces where everyone comments on your lunch. People don’t do it much where I am now and it’s so refreshing to just be able to eat without having to justify your lunchbox contents.

I guess I'd be more inclined to try a tictoc than a blog where the dressing is made from home churned butter and 19 pages long, am sure you've seen them! 🙄

I’m with your colleagues, sorry! I love eggs and I love chicken but I just can’t eat them together! Feels weird and wrong! My husband thinks I’m odd! 😂

Weird people. If you like it you like it and as others have said, it's perfectly normal. That said, I used to get weird comments when I brought in anything more outlandish than a sandwich (a chicken salad, or Tupperware box of trail mix is interesting, really?), so I kind of thing some people don't have much to occupy themselves and assume anyone who's put any thought into their lunches much be 'On A Diet [TM]'

Chicken fried rice is amazing, and I'd have chicken and boiled eggs in a salad without a second thought!
