To eat chicken and egg together?

I make jar salads for work - this week I've got cucumber, tomto, lettuce, boiled egg and diced chicken breast

3 difficult colleagues have commented that it's weird to eat chicken and egg in the same meal

It's never occurred to me - am I weird / normal?

I had a dawning realisation that I was cooking a mother and child when making a chicken omelette years ago at uni.

I tried to eat it but couldn’t stop thinking about the concept and haven’t eaten since (admit hypocrisy because of Chinese food and any egg dipping for breadcrumbs etc!)

Seeing the two ingredients recognisable and next to each other as main feature in a meal, it makes the dish inedible as I can’t get past it being wrong/dark/macabre.

I don't know if this is the OPs but there's loads on tik tok if you type "jar salad" in the search bar but this one tells you about dressing on the bottom and leaves on the top.

I like ham and boiled egg sandwich or salad with mayo but not had chicken and egg before.

We eat chicken scrambled eggs and waffles. And chicken and eggs on a biscuit where I come from. So delicious

I love chicken and egg salad. I only like the white though. Thank you for inspiring me to make my salads more interesting in a jar. Was getting bored of salad in my sandwich box or on a plate. So you eat it out the jar too ie just mix it up

The vast majority of eggs eaten in this country are unfertilized so the mother and child comparison is wrong. The nearest thing would be mother and .....

Of course it’s not weird. I’d definitely have a chicken salad with an egg in the salad, and as others have said chicken fried rice has both. Your friends are odd!

Tell them you’re not eating a mother and child, you’re eating a female and her period.

There's a fab Thai minced chicken stir fry that's served with a fried egg on top.

Your colleagues are being weird. There is no reason why you shouldn't eat them together. I don't believe there is even a religious restriction about this (like Jewish people not eating meat and dairy together).

We almost always have hard boiled eggs with a salad irrespective of what the main protein is. Mostly it's because we both like hard boiled eggs.

Many club sandwiches contain chicken and egg.

I don't like cradle to grave type scenarios. It's a no from me.

Always had boiled eggs on salad as a child with whatever other protein we were eating. We had one of those wire egg slicers to make perfect slices.
