It's red with white flowers? I'll probably go for white heels and a nude clutch bag, just super stressed white is off limits! Thoughts please ladies...

I just wore a blue and white dress, I felt that blue was the predominant colour and it was fine.

AryaStarkWolf · 15/06/2022 14:17

Nah that's fine, as long as it's not all or mostly white

sorryiasked · 15/06/2022 14:17

Sounds fine (unless bridesmaids are in the same red!)

Crunchymum · 15/06/2022 14:17

Show us the dress.

I am sure it will be fine!

stripesorspotsorwhat · 15/06/2022 14:20

Depends which set of photos you are likely to be in and where you stand - you don't want to upstage everybody else, which red can do sometimes!

Thats a red dress so def not too white...

RhodaDendron · 15/06/2022 14:30

Ah it’s lovely. And great for a wedding.

balalake · 15/06/2022 14:39

Lovely dress and suitable in my opinion.

girlmom21 · 15/06/2022 14:46

That's perfectly fine for a wedding

jevoudrais · 15/06/2022 14:52

Really lovely, I'm sure that can be dressed up really well for a wedding.

Thatswhyimacat · 15/06/2022 14:55

That's nice! I'd be cautious that white shoes are likely to get ruined though?

Marvellousmadness · 15/06/2022 14:59

Its a red dress
But a bit to casual for a wedding imo though

What do you do at weddings?! Grin
Presumably it's a summer wedding. White shoes will be fine!

Knowbodysphool · 15/06/2022 15:08

Red & white are the colours for death in a church I think . It's a lovely dress but possibly to casual for a wedding
I'd choose something else to wear if I had a choice

User76745333 · 15/06/2022 15:10

It's clearly not a white dress. I also agree its a bit casual for a wedding..

lyns86x · 15/06/2022 15:27

Thanks all.

I never said it was white, even the title says red and white.. some of you ladies on here do make me chuckle.

I really like it on me so am definitely going to wear it!! Xx

My Granny would say blood and bandages - she wouldnt have red and while flowers in the same room.

Looks lovely - enjoy

Given that our church has red carpet, red pew cushions, white walls and white altar cloths (and red trimmings on the major festivals) I don't think anyone's going to be thinking DEATH!! on sight of that dress.

Fabric is absolutely fine. The length on the model is a bit eye-opening for a wedding, but you say it's not the same on you.

steff13 · 15/06/2022 15:42

Why does your body type make the dress look less casual on you? It's a pretty casual dress for a wedding, unless it's a more casual wedding.

check with your Priest , let’s see what they say
it’s was considered as bad as wearing white but the @lyns86x is going to wear it anyway so it’s completely irrelevant now …..

So would mine but only regarding flowers

Also blue and green should not be seen except upon the queen

I think it's a lovely dress

Eh? Been a churchgoer all my life, with multiple generations of clergy. Never heard anyone say red and white are associated with death.

Dress is very nice and totally fine for a wedding.

Honeyroar · 15/06/2022 16:25

My florist pulled me aside and mentioned the blood and bandages thing when I wanted red flowers for me and white for bridesmaids. As it happened the wedding never took place, so it didn’t matter (I would’ve had them regardless).

littlegingerone · 15/06/2022 16:26

I get married later this year and it won't bother me if someone wears a completely white dress to the wedding to be honest, I mean it's hardly going to be a wedding dress is it so, anything else is fine! You've found something you like and you're happy in it so those are the most important requirements in my opinion :)
