So many deleted threads

I think that the number of threads being deleted is becoming ridiculous quite frankly.

I have, in the last ten minutes, gone back to look at three threads I had previously looked at.
Gone.

Nothing particularly contentious about any of the subjects either.

I am using MN less and less because of similar over the last few months because you click back on a perfectly reasonable chat and poof…no longer there with some asinine reason given for its deletion.

AIBU for thinking that MNHQ are beginning to stifle the topics and responses and are becoming a bit heavy handed?

Or a load of crap is being posted.

I am getting miffed as well. Went to check on one thread and POOF it's gone!

Posters just won’t engage with a crap thread will they. It’s more than that. It’s also happening a lot and from a user point of view is just super annoying.

I agree - how do we actually know whether any thread is made up.

Unless it’s a personal attack/ direct Taat, PBP or completely offensive then I think it should stay regardless of how rubbish it is, potentially untrue etc.

It’s annoying. Some of them I think are when the OP doesn’t hear what they expect so want it deleted 🤷‍♀️ … just leave the thread and other posters continue with their discussions .. simple.

They could just lock the thread so no new posts can be made, or at least leave the deletion message up for a few hours. But stupid to just donate things, we're not children

That was a foul, rabble-rousing pile of steaming horse manure, to be fair. It was always going to be deleted, and rightly so.

There have been a few baffling deletions lately, though. I assume they were started by PBPs.

They are the oft-cited 'privacy concerns' ones or otherwise known as OP didn't get the response they wanted & pulled the thread.
