Weekly Waitrose shop cost

If you shop at Waitrose for your main shop, how much do you spend for your family?
I've just received my vouchers and was very excited as they promised to be the best yet and they were for £17 off if I spent £170!! There's 3 sometimes 4 of us and there's no way I'd usually spend that much. I shop for my mum in that shop and at most it's £150 and that's when we are buying in December for Christmas.
I've not done a shop (for me) there for a while for various reason but having done an online shop today I can't believe how much things have gone up. My mum's ready meals (needed due to disability if I can't cook for her that day) have jumped by a pound in the space of a week! Pasta has shot up. Hell, most things have shot up. It will be a once or twice a month order now with top ups from Asda as I pass there daily.

If you have a family of 3 or 4 people how much do you spend approximately? Including household items as we buy those there too. I'd easily spend £120 if I could but try to keep to £80.

The quality is so much nicer than any other supermarkets and like Aldi and Lidl the stores are usually reasonably small so you can get around it in not too much time. I don’t understand the people that shop in M&S. Full of grim looking ready meals.

It was about £160 a week for 2 adults and an older teen during 2020/21. It was the only place that would do deliveries and the Covid precautions in the store were excellent so I shopped there exclusively apart from a local farm shop for veg. I wasn’t stuck on brands though. Waitrose baked beans are ok!
Gone back to Sainsbury’s now and that’s about £120. I will stock up on some Waitrose ready meals, nettle tea bags and tinned olives sometimes if I’m passing.

Exactly. I used to get vouchers for £8 off £40 or £10 off £60, the latter I never use.

I'll go and get £40-45 of things on special offer and treaty stuff you can't get elsewhere, because otherwise, it's still really expensive unless you shop really carefully.

I haven't had a voucher for a while and probably won't be going to Waitrose much any more as they seem to have discontinued their Essential tonic in cans and that was one of the main things I bought - the stuff in plastic bottles, while cheaper, is nowhere near as fizzy, even when freshly opened.

If you google you can find voucher codes online for Waitrose. Last month's I had were for £20 off £100. This brought our weekly shop down to £80 a week for 2 adults and 2 teens

We spend about £80-£100 a week for 2 of us adults, we also do hellofresh x 4 a a week so total food spend is about £450-500 a month maybe, but it does include all our lunches too as work from home x

Yes this. It's a scale-up nudge. It means they think you're within striking distance of a £170 shop.

If anyone is interested could keep posting codes as they come in for others to use...I tend to use the ones around £100 as that tends to be our weekly food shop cost

We spend between £140-200 for two adults and a child. We get a weekly online delivery.

Waitrose vouchers are always for a bit more than you would normally spend. So e.g. we typically spend £120 a week (family of 4), money off vouchers usually require a spend of £140... I can usually accomplish this by stocking up on things like Calgon, loo roll etc.

I don't get the buzz with the place?

They send them to me, or I google and find them..I have recently added this app called Coupert which found me the last ones.

I shop online with Waitrose fortnightly. 4 of us plus 3 pets. And I get that down to £180ish a fortnight so £90/week.

No top ups needed and very careful mealplanning.

Ooo I love Waitrose. Even stuff from their Essentials range is good. We are 2 adults and 2 kids and we easily spend ~£250 per week.

Waitrose quality is excellent, even for own brand which is well priced and the variety for alternatives like gluten free etc is great. I do find however that some branches are way better than others in terms of service and stock availability. I’m that person who likes certain products from certain supermarkets and will go especially to said supermarket and stock up on that particular item. Time consuming yes but money well spent as no wastage, everything gets eaten/used. I have traveled to many countries and the UK has by far the best choice, quality and best shopping experience.

We were always waitrose. Family of 5 . 2 adults, almost 3 year old and 8 month twins.

Never spend more than £140 plus a £40 top up shop (fruit and veg) but have found lately the number of items we are buying is around 40-45.

Started shopping at sainsburys, spend £120 (which includes formula and nappies) and getting about 70 ish items .

They don't let the likes of me into Booths 😂

@Saucery we only go to Booths when on a trip to the seaside. The gold dusted millionaires shortbread is lovely. We only go for breakfast things and snacks.
