Salon lady waxed my eyebrows too hard

My skin is sensitive so it's usually a bit red afterwards but not like this. I look like I've got burns.

For info it was yesterday morning and it still looks like this now

It will pass in a few days. It's happened to me a couple of times.

Quincythequince · 12/06/2022 20:46

I don’t get it.
What’s the BU part?

Clearly the skin there is a mess.

ErmineAndPearls · 12/06/2022 20:48

How long ago did you have them waxed? Maybe you have been burned. Maybe the wax was too hot. It doesn’t look too bad, though. I suspect that if you leave it alone, it’ll be better in the morning. I really would not put anything on that, though. You risk making it worse.

ZaraSizeMedium · 12/06/2022 20:49

Yep that’s a mess, she’s gone too far down on your eyelid and/or the wax was too hot and/or she hasn’t stretched the skin taught enough when removing the wax.

I take it you’re going to send her some photos tomorrow and complain.

DickVanDyke26 · 12/06/2022 20:49

I guess I'm wondering whether I should mention it to them. I'm not really one to complain and I've had it done lots of times there before and it's fine. Not usually with this lady though.

Show them these photos.
In fact a few more clearer ones.

This is unacceptable service and you’re lucky it wasn’t worse.

Lets hope it doesn’t get worse.

DickVanDyke26 · 12/06/2022 20:54

I don't think it was the temperature of the wax I think she's just gone and ripped them off too hard. It did sting a bit afterwards.

Basilbrushgotfat · 12/06/2022 21:04

Yes I'd complain, op.

In the meantime, sudocrem and aloe vera should help the heal.

olympicsrock · 12/06/2022 21:08

Wasn’t done well. Let them know

TruffleShuffles · 12/06/2022 21:18

Do you use retinol? I’ve seen this happen a lot with people who do.

DickVanDyke26 · 12/06/2022 21:22

@TruffleShuffles yes I do but not normally near my eyelids. I do above my eyebrows but this isn't wear it's sore.

Ceridwenn · 12/06/2022 21:24

I've started getting this when I do my own. I use retinol and linked the two. I don't put it around my eyes either.

hangrylady · 12/06/2022 21:25

Ouch! Sudocreme should help and going forward try threading instead, much better for sensitive skin and lasts longer than waxing.

It will be that, it migrates. To be fair the therapist should be asking the question of people nowadays as it’s advised to stop using it at least a week before waxing.

bbqhulahoop · 12/06/2022 21:26

Yeah, mine always so this I'm afraid. Did you catch the sub after your wax? Skin much more burnable when sensitive

Icecreamandapplepie · 12/06/2022 21:28

It looks like she's waxed too far down! Does anyone get hair on their eyelids?

No wonder its sensitive...

EvilEdna1 · 12/06/2022 21:29

The only time this has happened to me is when I use retinol.

thelastshadowpuppet · 12/06/2022 21:31

Ouch....I'd complain op.

What's the reinol link?

YouCouldBeAnAirHostessInThe60s · 12/06/2022 21:32

What’s retinol??

ThisTooShallPassOneDay · 12/06/2022 22:25

Yeah same, happened to me when I've been using Retinol. It goes down quickly though x

Calvinlookingforhobbes · 12/06/2022 23:13

Are you on any medication or do you use any acids night creams/eye cream?

Dasher789 · 12/06/2022 23:51

Happened to me when using retinol too. Use sudocrem will go down in a few days. I only have threading now

YellowMonday · 13/06/2022 00:03

That's a burn, wax too hot. I would absolutely complain, unless you use retinoids and didn't stop 3 days prior to your appointment (then it's on you).
