To think smoking a joint

Whilst walking with a pram is just the same as swigging alcohol with a pram?

OP posts:
Peoniesandcream · 09/06/2022 17:39

Worse because of the second hand smoke- I used to visit a friend who chain smoked spliffs and me and toddler leave her house feeling stoned!

Ablemable88 · 09/06/2022 17:39

What about on a balcony with toddler inside?

Some people don't deserve kids

Ablemable88 · 09/06/2022 17:40

@inmyslippers which ones the smokers or alcoholic?

I'm surprised there aren't a lot of opinions about this to be honest.

As an occasional weed smoker, I'd find either shit, but smoking worse. Watching second hand smoke float over prams makes me feel ill.

Little difference if on a balcony and away. Neither ideal if the child is awake; fucking stupid if drinking or smoking enough to feel drunk/stoned.

Jesus the thread has only been up 9 minutes, give people a chance to see it.

I'd say smoking slightly worse because of the second hand smoke but other than that they're both as bad as each other

DorothyZbornakIsAQueen · 09/06/2022 18:00

Smoking is way worse.

Sipping on a pimps at a village fete whilst pushing a baby in the pram, I can't see how that would be as bad as smoking round a pram.

They are both a bit skanky but not worthy of having your kids removed 🙄🤣

DorothyZbornakIsAQueen · 09/06/2022 18:01

Unless you are talking about someone paralytic?

BlueTitSmilingAtMe · 09/06/2022 18:03

Sipping on a pimps at a village fete

This is a Divine Comedy song just waiting to be written

chiffchaffchiff · 09/06/2022 18:16

I have nothing against parents smoking weed. I do care about people smoking anything around children. I'm a smoker myself but always tuck myself away from non-smokers and never walk down a street smoking.

11Hawkins · 09/06/2022 18:22

Now, Now don't forget the drunk parents pushing a pram to the pub!

Of course it's a bad thing to do. Why is this even a post it's just common sense.

purplecorkheart · 09/06/2022 18:27

Smoking is worse given second hand smoke. Both are awful though

Breathing marijuana smoke on them is.

Social Services and the courts are NOT going to remove a child from their parents because they smoke marijuana when pushing the pram Hmm

yea on an occasion like a village fete an adult having a bottle with the pram would be more acceptable but I think the op means more on a regular day.

Sipping on a pimp’s what, though?

If weed is used as an anti anxiety and not to get stoned, then there isn't an issue with the balcony. I've never liked weed as a drug and think people should try to come off it, but support from the GP is non existent in some areas and people's MH issues are complex. Are they misguidedly thinking that smoking while pushing the pram outside is better than smoking in the house? Rather than just judge I'd try to help with the addiction. You aren't focused when you smoke which has been shown to affect attachment. The eye contact isn't the same.

Ponoka7 · 10/06/2022 09:09

Also re the same as drinking. It depends on the individual and the extent of the addiction. We do judge the WC on that one much more than those higher.

MrsMiddleMother · 10/06/2022 09:26

Smoking a joint and pushing a pram is so much worse. Not only the second hand smoke but its also illegal. Atleast the alcohol will only directly effect the person drinking it instead of everyone else around them.

You went more than once? You’re as bad as she is.

Really? Why are there so many drunken fights? Why is drink driving an offence? Incidentally I’ve never seen a stoned person get aggressive and violent.

10HailMarys · 10/06/2022 09:35

Smoking anything while pushing a baby in a pram is terrible.

Drinking alcohol while pushing a pram would depend very much on context. Staggering along the high street pissed every day while you do your shopping or take your baby to nursery, clearly not OK. Drinking a cold beer or a glass of wine while you wander round an outdoor event like a fair or a food festival, or a mulled wine at a Christmas market when you're taking your kid to see Father Christmas, would be perfectly fine.

Smoking weed on a balcony while a child is inside - really depends on context. Weed is very much not my thing at all, but I don't think I'd have an issue with someone smoking a bit of weed to wind down in the evening now and again, outside on a balcony while their child is asleep. I'd happily sit outside with G&T if there was a sleeping child in the house. But if people are sitting on their balcony getting stoned and incapable all day while their children are indoors fending for themselves, or the smoke is drifting into the house, that's obviously awful.
