To think smoking a joint

Whilst walking with a pram is just the same as swigging alcohol with a pram?

Social Services and the courts are NOT going to remove a child from their parents because they smoke marijuana when pushing the pram Hmm

No, sadly they won’t. It’d be good if they did though.

Smoking whilst pushing a pram, regardless of contents, is just a huge nope for me. I (regrettably) smoke, but never did it with my DS in a pram, or indeed any time he was around me - I'd wait for nap/bedtime, or when he was occupied with something and would always be outside away from windows - I had a special (huge) fleece pull over that I would leave in the shed outside and wash my hands/face straight afterwards.

I'm less concerned about holding a glass of wine pushing a pram at a fete/festival etc. That said, I've never done it, and never been drunk around my (awake) DS even now he's 5.

@CanaryWharf2 removing children who aren't at risk of significant harm is never a good thing. Once a child is attached removal causes emotional harm.

@MrsMiddleMother, you think that parental drinking only effects the parent? As said, it's the drinkers who fill the A&Es and police cells.

Any child whose parent is happy to blow marijuana smoke over them is at risk of serious harm.

I find that quite surprising tbh

@10hailmarys Smoking weed on a balcony while a child is inside - really depends on context. Weed is very much not my thing at all, but I don't think I'd have an issue with someone smoking a bit of weed to wind down in the evening now and again, outside on a balcony while their child is asleep.

Yeah that's what I mean. That's OK then? And as for walking with a pram if the chair is forward facing what would you think?

@BlueTitSmilingAtMe you are my hero. Perhaps we could pen it together and give Neil the final draught.

Sipping on a pimps at the village fete 🤣

I can almost hear Sitting at the Dock of the Bay.

Almost.

And are, unfortunately, mostly male.

Smoking illegal drugs is much worse. The horrors within the supply chain for this supposedly harmless drug are utterly shocking. Alcohol, while it undoubtedly has issues, is not illegal.

Yes so illegal and terrible that to government grow it and sell it yet it's not okay for citizens. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Blossom toes, not even Johnny Depp? And isn't skunk famous for sending people nuts

Second or third hand smoke is a thing, regardless of the substance being smoked.

marijuana edibles prepared by legitimate suppliers to standardized strength levels could be equivalent to drinking alcohol. So having a weed gummy on the balcony or a beer on the balcony are basically the same thing in a place where both are legal. Smoking a joint is not because the particles get on your clothing.

Smoking anything while walking along with a child in a pram is bad, in my opinion, whether that's weed or cigarettes. I think if someone can't manage to go for a walk with their child without smoking a joint, they've got some serious issues. Also, if you get stopped by the police for smoking weed illegally in the street, that's not exactly a great thing to happen in the presence of a baby/toddler, is it?

Basically, if people are going to smoke weed, in my opinion they should be doing that away from the child. If the child is asleep in bed with the window/door closed and the parent is sitting on the balcony smoking in moderation to relax, fair enough. But they shouldn't be doing it on the street and they shouldn't be doing in front of their child or while interacting with them.
