To not tell NDN about night time noises

ImStillMe · 03/06/2022 14:52

A few night ago I heard some noises outside after midnight. I couldn't work out if it was a cat or fox or someone in distress.

Upon opening the window it became apparent that NDN's bedroom window was open and it was the sound of a woman enjoying sex echoing around the cul-de-sac.

NDN is a seventy-something divorcee who lives alone. Didn't sound like her.

Saw NDN a few days later and she mentioned that her adult son had stayed over with his partner whilst NDN was away. And they are staying over again soon.

I didn't say anything but part of me wants to advise her that they should keep the window shut. It wasn't a hot night weather-wise.

I wouldn't say anything, its a bit awkward and embarrassing. I once saw my neighbours having sex with the windows open late at night but I didn't pop round and say anything. They're allowed to do that in their own home. Its not like they were being loud in the daytime with everyone out to hear them.

HandScreen · 03/06/2022 15:09

Jesus Christ, why would you say anything?!

Maisa45 · 03/06/2022 15:12

Don't say anything. It will just cause unnecessary awkwardness. It's not like it's a regular thing.

LolaJ87 · 03/06/2022 15:23

YABVU.

How could you even wonder if it's ok to instruct your elderly neighbour to talk to her adult son about closing the windows when he has sex? That is so inappropriate.

If this had happened regularly I'd feel some sympathy for you due to sleep deprivation but you just sound like a busy-body curtain twitcher.

Kingharoldshairstyle · 03/06/2022 15:35

Why would you possibly want to tell her that? Don’t be ridiculous say nothing. What’s wrong with you 😂

thenewduchessoflapland · 03/06/2022 15:36

If you can't beat them;join them.Throw those windows wide open

SmartieRants · 03/06/2022 15:44

Maybe they won't be in the mood next time? Why would you say anything!

PAFMO · 03/06/2022 15:45

Of course you don't say anything.

Mrsjayy · 03/06/2022 15:48

So you want to tell your neighbour that her son was having noisy sex so could she say to them to close the window! What's wrong with you 😂

Scurryfunge12 · 03/06/2022 15:50

Someone in distress 😂😂😂😂 that’s made me laugh a lot.

catandcoffee · 03/06/2022 15:51

OP I feel your pain. my neighbours are the exact same...windows wide open and very loud sex.....I am sick of being woken by
'oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god ' at 2am most nights.

Alstoybarn · 03/06/2022 16:24

Omg this made me absolutely howl 😭🤣😭🤣

Saz12 · 03/06/2022 16:49

I’d hate to be woken by neighbours shagging at 2am. Actually I’d hate being woken up at 2am by neighbours at all.

But... you can’t ask her to ask him to ask the partner to keep the house down & shut the window.

Luredbyapomegranate · 03/06/2022 17:25

Who cares? Why would you even think of saying something. If the noise bothered you just drop in a note (sealed with his name on it) when he stays.

BadNomad · 03/06/2022 17:29

Close your window, Nosey Nelly.

Lindy2 · 03/06/2022 17:30

Seriously? Just politely ignore them. I honestly couldn't think of anything more toe curling embarrassing than asking her to tell them to close the window.

illbeinthegarden · 03/06/2022 17:39

I've told my neighbours to close the window before.... however, it was a nice Saturday afternoon and my children were in the garden asking what the noise was! I ignored the night time shagging.

BlanketsBanned · 03/06/2022 17:39

Buy yourself some earplugs

LaFloristaCalista · 03/06/2022 17:48

Did you just create this thread to tell us you heard someone having sex? Confused

ManateeFair · 03/06/2022 17:56

You sound like you’re actually quite excited about it all.

PatAndFrank · 03/06/2022 17:59

Is the other person ever that good the person has to scream the house down

custardbear · 03/06/2022 18:00

Sorry but you're always going to hear people having sex in close proximity if they're loud and windows are open - I'm sure she'd be thrilled if someone thought it was her lol 😆

Thepeopleversuswork · 03/06/2022 18:01

These threads never cease to amaze me. In what universe can you imagine that conversation ending well?

No of course you don’t bloody say anything!

LjSebs · 03/06/2022 18:10

Clutch the pearls any harder OP and they might break.

Its just adults, having sex, inside a house (that they had the right to be in) at night. It’s not like they were doing BDSM next to the tulips in your back garden whilst you were having a midday BBQ.

MissNothing1991 · 03/06/2022 18:46

I live in a first floor flat. I'm pretty sure the woman downstairs likely hears my sex toys and/or hears me having sex. Sadly for her, I won't be turning celibate. I've a right to have sex in my own home. So to me, leave them alone ffs. Probably not getting any yourself
