Dogs In Pubs

Just a bit of fun .
AIBU to think that after a long walk and several snacks my dog should not look so disappointed at being in the pub !😂

OP posts:

Awwww. My (now deceased) boy loved the pub. We had a code after he went deaf so I could sneak him out without the other dog (too anxious and doesn’t enjoy the pub). Dogs should love the pub!!

Handsnotwands · 28/05/2022 22:37

Get the poor pooch another bag of pork scratchings

XenoBitch · 28/05/2022 22:55

My dog just flakes out on the floor and has a big ole snooze.

toomuchlaundry · 28/05/2022 22:59

DDog used to love going to the pub pre lockdown but as we got out of the habit/wasn’t allowed he no longer seems to enjoy it as much now

SunnySundayMornings · 28/05/2022 23:16

My dog loved our local pub (he's now very old) our local pub is in the middle of the village centre and everytime we'd walk past the pub he'd stop dead and refuse to walk and then try and drag me into the pub!! At 8am it's not a good look and people found it hilarious. He was such a bad influence 😂

TheDogsMother · 28/05/2022 23:20

My dog used to drag me into the pub and was greeted by the landlord before I was. He loved the fuss, twiglets or mini Cheddars.

Cherrysoup · 28/05/2022 23:22

Took puppy to the pub for the first time last week. He practically fell over sitting and looking up at someone, ultra cute. A man stopped several times to tell him he was adorable. He had some crisps which he loves. I’m delighted to be able to go to the pub with him.

DangerouslyBored · 29/05/2022 05:02

Our two love the pub! They love all the attention they get there 😊 our pub is lovely and possibly more dog than human friendly 😆 they have free doggy treats 🐶

ChristineCagney11 · 29/05/2022 05:22

LOL
I've been lucky that I've been owned by many dogs over the years, only a couple would have been happy in the pub the rest it would have been their worst nightmare. Maybe have a drink on the walk ? 😆

Blarting · 29/05/2022 05:28

Love a dog in the pub!

Especially in winter in front of an open fire.

newnamethanks · 29/05/2022 05:32

Yes to 🐕 in pubs they belong together.

easyday · 29/05/2022 05:42

Not the pub but there's a cafe near the park that allows dogs. Mine prefer to be moving though and I guess don't like the constant flow of people in and out - they want to check out everyone especially if they too have a dog! So I leave them at home.

Ilikewinter · 29/05/2022 06:07

Ah I love a dog in a pub, winterpup is 13 months now but im afraid we'd be swiftly booted out of any pub as he just cause chaos 😥

ATadConfused · 29/05/2022 06:29

In the day or at the time of night you posted?

8month old lab lives a daytime pub visit, but puts himself to bed early & would not want to be out at 'that time of night'. I swear he was a little old man in a previous life!!

alloalloallo · 29/05/2022 06:41

My girl loves the pub.

Our local keeps dog treats on the bar and the bar staff are always very generous with them.

Pretty much all the pubs round here are dog friendly, she has become a bit of a pub connoisseur.

She also has a favourite cafe - they sell doggy ice cream and special doggy cakes

newnamethanks · 29/05/2022 06:46

Caught in a storm on beach in Hampshire, took shelter in little cafe expecting the usual No Dogs hysteria. They cooked my dog his very own sausage!🐕🍴😀lovely people.

Treecloudtree · 29/05/2022 06:52

I wish pubs and dog friendly restaurants had a little dog menu to order them their own little sausage. I’m sick of sharing mine 😂

countrygirl99 · 29/05/2022 06:53

Were there people eating anywhere near. Would be my spaniel's scrounging technique

A local cafe has dog ice cream!

One of my very much missed labs was like that, always said if she was a human she'd be an elderly matron, even at a young age I half expected her to start mumbling about "Stuff and nonsense" and tutting loudly.

Mindymomo · 29/05/2022 07:08

My border collie loves a pub, when we say let’s go to the pub, he’s straight for the door. Only problem is he likes us to sit in the same seats and literally takes us to them. One pub, prior to lockdown, we’d been there 3 times, it’s on a river walk and we finally got to walk this way last week. We hadn’t told him we were going to the pub, just for a walk, but as soon as we got near he went up the stairs to go in.

BalloonsAndWhistles · 29/05/2022 07:09

Aww, your post made me smile. I agree, he should be very happy 😆 My mum’s dog used to love it. On one very memorable occasion, we were walking across the pub with him and the little git squatted down and did an almighty shit right in the middle of the room! He looked so chuffed with himself as well.

QuebecBagnet · 29/05/2022 07:12

Years ago I lived in a village about 4 miles from town and one day the landlord of the pub we drank in in town rang to say my dog had just marched through the door.

He’d stowed himself away in a visitors van and unnoticed was driven to town and still unnoticed got out the van on the opposite side of town from the pub. He didn’t really get taken to town so no idea how he found his way to the one place in town he did know!

@ChristineCagney11 absolutely!! 😍where as my much missed spaniel was 'good to go' on an adventure anytime! But not pub friendly as she was too excitable!!

@ATadConfused
I've had collies wake me up at 3am just by staring at me in that "let's go woman it's technically morning" type way but I did have a rescue end of life spaniel in my twenties and I will never forget her very very busy energy even though she was an OAP.
