My partner still gets his paperwork etc for everything still sent to his parents. We live together, have done for around 2 years. I said it's cause me to feel like he's not commited to me fully. To which his reply is, I don't see the problem with it, I'm not changing it. That's my insecurities.

Is this just me? Is it wierd? Does anyone else have it like this where your partner gets everything still sent to their parents.

House is technically on paper mine, which is why he's refusing to get documents here

Is this what he’s said? That’s ridiculous!! Do not let him get his name on the deeds!!

Honestly 40, living with parents and not much to show for it. Think you had a lucky escape tbh. He is looking to blame you and wheedle his way back in.

You might have got different answers if you put all the relevant information in your opening post.
My assumption to begin with was you were a couple in your 20s, renting - in which case there is a lot of sense to it.

All the later information is quite different

It is illegal to have your driving license in the incorrect address
If you have a accident the police etc will go to that address

When I've applied for jobs, I've had to prove my address with ID & bills

I wonder if he is hiding something like letters from debt collectors...

Whatonearth07957 · 22/05/2022 18:53

Just leave him to it. Don't sacrifice a stake in your home for him to get documents delivered. Make sure he contributes to living expenses and rent.

Op it is illegal for your dp not to be registered at your address for Council tax you will be prosecuted and asked to pay back whatever is owed. Having said that yes I completely agree that something is off about his behaviour I would also think he is not that committed to the relationship. Sorry don't know what the answer is but if he walks out over it he does have a huge issue with his home address
