I'm moving house tomorrow (or, technically, today...the removal van arrives at 8am) The flat I live in at the moment isn't anything especially exciting; reasonably spacious, good transport links. I've been here a year - DH and I moved here this time last year. But - DH passed away in December, so now I'm moving out by myself, to somewhere I have no ties to, and I'm just feeling really sad.

AIBU to ask for a handhold?

I’m so sorry for your loss OP. It must be very hard to move away from somewhere with memories of him, but the memories belong to you and not the flat and you will take them with you wherever you go.

I am moving this summer after living in my house for 15 years ,I lost my husband a couple of years ago and am moving 300 miles away and imagine I will be feeling like you do on the day.

I've been in your position OP and the one thing I'll say is even though you are moving you take your memories with you, nothing can ever take those away.
