Anyone ordered from here? Looking at prom dresses for my daughter but am reluctant to order as I have concerns the quality won’t be great. She wants something “ballgown”y a proper prom dress, but I can’t afford the £500+ in the shops! No luck looking for second hand dresses, she’s very petite and we haven’t seen anything she likes that will fit. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

My DD got a flower dress for a wedding from there once. It was really nice and good quality. But she was 4 or 5. I dont know the prom dresses from there at all.

Most of the girls at dd’s school have got dresses from here and all seem to love them.
be aware the shipping is £23 though and if you return it’s about another £20.
they do custom sizing as well so if your dd doesn’t fit a standard size or like my dd has large chest but tiny waist it’s £20 to have it made to measure. Whereas dd’s was £80 from a second hand site and I’ve had to spend £40 having it tailored to fit.

I've not used JJ house but have used ever pretty which is a similar site.

Quality was good and customer services were fine when I sent a dress back (bought 3 sizes as Im not good with buying online. Small waist but big chest so often can be a combination of sizes)

I got all my bridesmaid dresses from there. Even my very high standards snobby DSIL liked them

IDontDrinkTea · 02/05/2022 20:29

I ordered a dress with custom measurements from there (I’m big chested) and it came totally wrong, and even when I sent them photos of me measuring it with a tape measure to show they’d made it wrong, they denied it all, said they wouldn’t refund a custom gown and refused to help at all

Same, my bridesmaids dresses came from jjs house and were lovely.

Friend got her bridesmaids dresses from JJs house, they weren't spectacular but they were good quality and just needed a few adjustments.

Got my DDs Y11 prom dress from there 2 years ago and it was beautiful. Arrived really quickly and was good quality.
Have just ordered her Y13 one from there so hoping things haven't changed.

lljkk · 02/05/2022 20:33

we ordered one in 2018. I can't say if it was good quality or not (I can't tell). I paid to have it altered for DD... then she promptly chose not to wear it to the prom. It's the one & only time I said I'd ever buy her a frock like that... daft teenager. I sold it for a pittance on eBay

ZiggZagg · 02/05/2022 21:01

I got my wedding dress from there, paid for custom fit and it was gorgeous. I felt so beautiful and comfortable in it

Doidontimmm · 02/05/2022 21:05

I just got my bridesmaid dress from there & it’s lovely, we did have to size up a bit though!

NightLightComfort · 02/05/2022 21:10

Lovely good quality dresses and very good prices. Downside is, you can’t order a few and try them on to see which suits the best. I tried to order 4 but they emailed me and said they couldn’t afford for people to do this, so I had to cancel 2 of the dresses, and out of the 2 I ordered, I had to find an imaginary fault to return the one DD didn’t choose.
The dress she liked is fantastic though.

ThisGirlCantAlways · 02/05/2022 21:11

We went to fonthill road in London, same dresses as all the big shops but nothing more than £100. Don’t expect fancy shops or a big experience, but honestly same dresses but direct from manufacturer. That’s if London is doable.

What about Asos? There are plenty on there with excellent delivery and returns. There is 20% off today for the Bank Holiday.

It's a bit worrying looking at some of those Trust Pilot reviews as I've just ordered dd's prom dress from there.
The only other options I can think of OP are buying new from somewhere like Coast, ChiChi London or Needle & Thread or go to a prom dress/bridal shop and see if they have any dresses in stock that they are selling off.

DD's bridesmaids dresses came from there too, custom fit and they were all spot on. The dresses looked lovely and the process was surprisingly simple.

PansyPetunia · 02/05/2022 21:36

Basically same kind of thing as shein?

WhatIsThisPlease · 02/05/2022 21:42

I was just about to order DD's prom dress from here today until I read the Trust Pilot reviews. Put me off completely so back to square one.

mummymayhem18 · 02/05/2022 21:43

I've ordered my daughters from there and should receive it in the next couple of days so will let you know as like you I was a bit dubious. I paid £200 all in. 🤞🤞

ChaseTheSun · 02/05/2022 21:46

We ordered my daughter’s prom dress from here last year. It arrived in good time and was good quality. We did need to take it to get it steamed though as it was a bit creased but apart from that it was fine. Would order from them again.

mummymayhem18 · 02/05/2022 22:07

Like others I've now just read the trust pilot reviews and am a little worried. Expecting the dress if it arrives not to fit and be poor quality. I had my daughters done custom as well so think it might be £200 down the drain. Will keep my fingers 🤞🤞

catsonahottinroof · 02/05/2022 22:16

Hopefully it will be fine Mummmayhem18, there were lots of good reviews too. I took a gamble with my daughter's sizing as she was showing by their measurements to be into the next size, I debated ordering the larger size and getting it altered but risked the smaller size - now I'm thinking if it comes at all it will be too small and completely useless!

mummymayhem18 · 02/05/2022 22:26

@catsonahottinroof that's what I'm worried about. At least if it's a bit big I can get adjusted but if it's small then I'm stuck. I ordered a size 8 but I paid for custom so it wasn't to long. 🤞🤞
