To be absolutely pissing fed up with Evri / Hermes

Vent vent vent...

There was no reason to rebrand, they are still just the same bag of shite.

Day 6 of "we tried to deliver your parcel but you weren't in..."

I AM IN and I have been all along as WFH. There is no one to call, no one to complain to. I am no further with the seller either, raised it with them but no one has got back to me. I know the simple option would be just to cancel and get a refund but I want my sodding parcel as it's not something I can reorder as it's no longer available.

Any similar issues? (Haha, stupid question!)

Any tips? How did you track down your Evri / Hermes driver? How long before they actually delivered and WHY? OH WHY??? do they keep saying they have been when they have not.

AIBU to still be holding out for hope or is it time to give up and make peace with the fact I'm NEVER getting my parcel?

Can you redirect it to a local locker? That's how I return stuff with them.

Surelyitscoffeetime · 25/04/2022 17:13

They have a habit of leaving parcels inside my wheelie garden waste bin. 😡

MistyGreenAndBlue · 25/04/2022 17:15

Yes. Time to demand a refund. They've lost it. Sorry.

MulberryBush700 · 25/04/2022 17:17

@RamblingFar I could, haven't thought of that to be honest. But how would that be any different since I am literally constantly in, ready to accept my parcel. They genuinely haven't missed me, I am here, they just aren't turning up when they say they do and then come the bullshit update than I wasn't in.

Also, it's practically a man sized parcel. Would that make it difficult to be delivered to a locker? (Sorry, not done that before)

Oh I'm so angry right now... so how long would they keep this charade up without admitting that something is wrong? And how the hell do you lose a BIKE???

There's some quite big lockers, but that package may be too large.

I just thought that they couldn't use the 'you were out' excuse to a locker.

MulberryBush700 · 25/04/2022 17:22

@RamblingFar it's definitely a valid point, thank you. I will look into it as I'm not ready to admit defeat yet.

At the very beginning, they also updated my delivery preferences, saying apparently I'd like my parcel to be delivered to the other end of the road, to a neighbour I have never even met!

Not read the whole thread, but I find Evri very good ! My lady is fabulous and has become a friend.
I know that the parcel company has bad reviews and often comes up on mumsnet as being inefficient, but I must just be lucky as I've always found them ok ( even as Hermès )
I'm sorry your having problems though op

I do really hate generalising and I'm pleased you haven't had any issues. I used to know the Hermes driver but he's left his job and no idea who replaced him.

I do wonder if this is a driver issue though? I mean they are the ones updating the status, right? Or am I wrong? Gosh, Im so frustrated with them. I was really looking forward to getting that bike Confused

AnotherDelphinium · 25/04/2022 17:52

My local driver is wonderful, but she uses her car, so I can’t imagine she be the one delivering a bike.

Maybe the issue is it’s an outsize item and they have a lack of couriers available to deliver them?

I understand your frustration though! I left the house at 1216 today and 1219 my delivery arrived! Gah!

balalake · 25/04/2022 18:02

I advocate that when ordering online, you should be told who the parcel carrier will be. To stop scam texts or other means of trying to harvest your credit/debit card data.

I bet Hermes aka Evri would lose a lot of business as a result.

Stodge · 25/04/2022 18:36

I agree completely

Our current evri delivery driver leaves our parcels on the road (no pavement) because she doesn't want to come up our drive

I agree with proposal that we should be told who the delivery company will be and we could vote with our feet

the80sweregreat · 25/04/2022 18:43

I leave positive feedback about them if asked ( I guess I'm the only one who does) but my lady told me that they never see any of these remarks and only get told if it's a bad review or a problem with something etc.
I don't think their conditions are very good , not that is any excuse, but maybe if they treated their staff better maybe there would be less problems all round?

sweeneytoddsrazor · 25/04/2022 18:51

I didn't know Hermes had changed names. I had an Evri delivery yesterday was told by email it would be delivered then had a text with a 2 hour time slot. Arrived within that time.

I’ve literally never had a problem with them either! They’ve always been good where I am, guess it’s just luck

hepaticanobilis · 25/04/2022 19:06

Due to the way the notifications work, they would need to have scanned the parcel today so I don't think it's lost. I think a pp might well onto be something re: the size though - my local Hermes/Evri guy usually delivers in a standard sized car so would not be able to deliver a bike unless that was the only item he had in the car that day. I hope it arrives soon, OP!

bridgetreilly · 25/04/2022 19:17

@MulberryBush700 I had a parcel due in November 2020 that is still listed as ‘in transit’ on their website. The sellers gave me a refund after about six weeks. Hermes have made no apology or admission of anything.

I like this scenario, there is still hope then! But surely I am not the only person who has a large parcel and there must be other drivers / different size vans available to deliver.

Jesus wept, that's an incredibly long time to wait! I don't normally have issues and regularly have international deliveries too so this one just really baffles me.

I mean, it probably requires a special skill to be able to read street names / house numbers? 🤷🏼‍♀️😅 (I'm being mean here....I put it down to my ever increasing annoyance!)

I think they rebranded it ' evri' because ' evri time they mess it up' (for most of the customers anyway. )

Figmentofimagination · 25/04/2022 21:31

I ordered 2 of the same item from Studio. Each item got a different tracking number. On Saturday I got an email and text to say being delivered 2:30-4:30pm. Then a further email to say sorry it's now being delivered 3-5pm. It never turned up on Saturday.
On Sunday, got an email from Studio to say 1 of the 2 items is now delayed. Their website showed 1 item as in transit and 1 item as not yet despatched (how can it go backwards?). Lunchtime on Sunday we got our delivery of both items in 1 bag. 🤨
Though that's better than Halloween last year when I ordered something for DS, it never showed up on the Saturday (always Saturdays are issues) and then on Monday it said it had been delivered on Saturday. Turned out it was delivered 5 doors down.

fishingforflies · 25/04/2022 22:13

My local deliverers are so fucking lovely I'd trust them with my life, and ideas I think I must have been good in a previous life to get to deserve them in this life.

(Not so good that I have a butler to open the door to them, but still...)
