Is that you Marine Le Pen. I know things didn’t go your way, but here’s always next time.

Lockheart · 24/04/2022 23:38

Ok, start one then.

Not really, I don't have the faith in "the people" you seem to. How do you think this festering shitpit of a government got thr gig in the first place?

IstayedForTheFeminism · 25/04/2022 00:23

You want a revolution, I want a revelation.

Nail. On
Head.

DaftyLass · 25/04/2022 00:28

It's all well and good to say tear it down, but you'd better have a solid plan in place for what it's meant to be like afterwards.

How it should be, who would run things, how it would be paid for, and who helps those left hanging, all of that boring work is how a real change happens.

Wevegotogettogethersoonerorlater · 25/04/2022 02:25

I want the govt to sort out the increased cost of living, the ridiculous state of the NHS and Camhs etc.
If we all stand together we have a chance. The majority of us want the same.

Hopefully those who have voted Tory have realised who they voted for.

THERE is money there and it should be for the people. Vive le revolution

And no I am not Marine Le Pen- cant stand her policies and way of thinking. My best friend is a Muslim who wears a headscarf and her treatment of Muslim women is disgusting.

At least in france the government protected them from the fuel price rises. Ours chose to hang us all out to dry.

Ylvamoon · 25/04/2022 03:14

How would a 2022 revolution look?
Are we storming No10?
Are we to organise silent protests on our streets?
Or are we to boycott big institutions?

Nope, best thing is to crumble about our plight on MN social media.

You want a revolution, I want a revelation.

Now listen to my declaration Smile

Fubla72 · 25/04/2022 03:32

You say you want a revolution, well you know, we all want to change the world

user1471453601 · 25/04/2022 03:40

You say you want a revolution? Well well you know, we all want to change the world.

John Lennon said it years ago. And when he was silent, Bob Dylan usually said it better. Such as And the poor white man is used in the hands of them
All as a tool.

So, as long as "they"give "us" someone to look down on, like asylum seekers, there will be no revolution.

I've been waiting for over 50 years, no sign yet.

Signed, an old and exasperated left wing bleeding heart liberal ( with insomnia)

Everyone’s a socialist - until they can’t get an iPhone.

Um....not everyone is a socialist!!! In fact, how many really are? Not many, I hope.

SW1amp · 25/04/2022 09:36

I presume you haven’t ever been on any sort of school or work whatsapp group?

most people can’t agree on or organise a drinks night

god only knows how you think they would start a revolution

Iamthewombat · 25/04/2022 09:45

your best chance of reducing inequality (which I assume is what you want) is through well-reasoned campaigning, not a ‘revolution’.

I almost asked where the money was coming from for your ‘stop prices going up’ and ‘throw loads of money at the NHS’ requirements, but I didn’t bother because I could have written the script.

it would have gone, “tax the rich and make Amazon (or whoever, the corporate bogeyman varies) pay tax!”

Then somebody would have had to explain how income tax and international corporation tax and transfer pricing work, and I just can’t be bothered.

What utter nonsense.

helpfulperson · 25/04/2022 09:51

So start one. Or do you mean you want other people to have a revolution.

Patronising response - some us know full well how transfer pricing works and also oppose it - not least on the basis that companies like Amazon manage to pay a lot more corporate tax in some countries - notably the USA.

Discovereads · 25/04/2022 09:54

History tells us that the vast majority of revolutions result in genocide. In modern history, these revolution caused genocides number in the hundreds of millions murdered.

so, no I can never support any kind of revolution

I want the govt to sort out the increased cost of living, the ridiculous state of the NHS and Camhs etc.

So you want some one else to sort it out, what are your ideas? Yeh umm lets have revolution tear down democracy, over throw the government then what? please enlighten us all, that's the problem with all the protestors, whinge and complain but never provide any solutions.

Useyourfork · 25/04/2022 09:58

I think the best way to protest is for everyone to stop using cash and people have their own currency. Boycott all large corporations and just use local businesses and traders for everything possible. Thus eventually weakening the power of the very rich over our government.
Oh and teach children about political systems at school and encourage small businesses ownership ( I’m just having a fantasy- I know)

Villagewaspbyke · 25/04/2022 09:58

@Wevegotogettogethersoonerorlater you mean a dictatorship of someone you approve of? This current government was voted in by democratic means. If you want an alternative you need to campaign for it and persuade people to vote for it.

I didn’t vote for the current government but they were democratically elected so I respect their right to govern.

Giraffesandbottom · 25/04/2022 10:00

because historically revolutions have worked out so well…
