Dh accidentally ate dc's Easter chocolate

Bought dc a Lindt hutch with bunnies in it for each of them. Two are adults and one is a teen.

Dd1 took hers home with her last weekend after staying here. The other two were in the garage with other food.

Dh casually mentioned he's been eating the bunnies today!

Aibu to LTB?

(Lighthearted - he was horrified, went out immediately to replace it and these are not little dc, wouldn't have been the end of the world if it went undetected)

Grin yes ltb

WhoKnewWho · 15/04/2022 19:23

Yes, leave him Hmm

LetitiaLeghorn · 15/04/2022 19:23

That would have made me laugh if my dad had done that. I'd have demanded monetary compensation. 😂

Confused
Cocomarine · 15/04/2022 19:24

It’s a bit weird to “accidentally” eat obviously Easter chocolate without calling out, “hey - is this chocolate going begging?”

He may have reacted appropriately after, but it’s weird to have done it.

Stylishkidintheriot · 15/04/2022 19:25

Ooh.. a snaccident!

JuneOsborne · 15/04/2022 19:26

I don't buy the accident bit op. You just know he looked at the little golden bunnies and thought: feck it, your mine. Fuck the kids.

The trick is getting him to admit it... Grin

Mamamia7962 · 15/04/2022 19:28

Just googled what they were, I'd love that, love Lindt chocolate!

monicagellerbing · 15/04/2022 19:34

🥱

Northernlurker · 15/04/2022 19:36

Ummm I probably should confess that I like Easter eggs so at this time of year I buy the small Dairy milk ones and eat that and at Christmas I buy reindeer for general eating....so he was used to it being around. Contributory negligence from me?

I did go all Macbeth (well Macduff) and exclaim 'what, all my pretty chicks and their dam' when I realised he'd eaten all five.

And he recycled the hutch.

You've no chance of finding more this late so yes LTB and give him a good kick on the way out.

You could try going all Richard III in response:

Shall I be plain? I wish the bastard(s) dead!

We all struggle with these thoughts this time of year Blush

Northernlurker · 15/04/2022 19:42

He went to three supermarkets and an outlet store to replace it.
Is that redemption enough I ask myself?

Really struggling to get my head around how anyone could 'accidentally' eat little Easter bunnies.

PupInAPram · 15/04/2022 19:46

@monicagellerbing

🥱
Well get to bed then.
Whiskeypowers · 15/04/2022 19:50

LTB

The really pitiful bit was when he tried to claim he thought if it was for the girls there would be three. And there were only two. (Before he started a Watership down level of massacre)

So I pointed out our eldest is nearly 24 and so why would her Easter chocolate be here when she lives elsewhere!

perimenofertility · 15/04/2022 19:56

I would have said LTB but seeing the update with the effort he went to to replace it, he sounds great!

merryhouse · 15/04/2022 20:04

My dad ate some Easter eggs one Easter Saturday, and had to go dashing out before the shops shut (this was the seventies...)

FIVE!!??

LTB and get a friend to help bury the body. Patio is obvious. Elder grows fast though Wink

Northernlurker · 15/04/2022 20:12

Three were very small. But yes five. Over a week apparently.
