Covid pass showing invalid. Travel tomorrow

wantmorenow · 10/04/2022 08:03

Throwing this out there for help. Now panicking as my covid pass for trip to spain tomorrow is coming up as invalid on this site. www.spth.gob.es/spain-validator
It's been issued by the NHS (Wales), partner's is fine, issued by NHS England. Both look essentially the same and have same issue date.

Mine says invalid and out of date. WTF do I do? Flying tomorrow.

Can't you use your printed pass for travel abroad that's on the NHS app??

Frazzled2207 · 10/04/2022 08:06

Not entirely sure what you mean but the england ones expire after a month and you just have to re-download. Is it def not that?

Frazzled2207 · 10/04/2022 08:07

Also in England you can email it to yourself

OutingHobby · 10/04/2022 08:08

What does it say on the NHS app? Is it valid there?

notanothertakeaway · 10/04/2022 08:09

I had the same issue. Try it with and without your middle name(s)

My covid pass was only recognised / validated without my middle names included. For the rest of the family, it only worked with middle names included

On arrival in spain, we had to show bar code of the health control firm for scanning

JPduck · 10/04/2022 08:10

I flew to Spain last week. When filling in the Spanish form online I didn't upload my uk covid pass, just chose the option for paper pass.they didn't want to see it at the airport just their paperwork.

vdbfamily · 10/04/2022 08:12

Not sure if any consolidation but we are in Berlin and en route I kept panicking re app as it kept saying I had wrong log in etc, however, it was not checked by anyone at any stage of travel!!

notanothertakeaway · 10/04/2022 08:12

And, where I live (not wales) the covid vaccine certificates do expire, but you can log into NHS website to generate a new one, with a new expiry date

wantmorenow · 10/04/2022 08:15

Thanks all. Generating the pass is fine - have electronic one plus a paper one through the post too. It's the Spanish gov site that says it's invalid and out of date. Only just been generated and my cert says valid until 3 May. Partner's same from England NHS and works perfectly.

notanothertakeaway · 10/04/2022 08:15

And in the health control form, did you remember to tick the box that says it's not an EU certificate

wantmorenow · 10/04/2022 08:16

The spanish gov site www.spth.gob.es/spain-validator just asks surname and to upload pdf.

I think that was same for me. Covid vaccine certificate in date, but Spanish health control form didn't validate it, until I removed my middle names on that section of the online form
Monkeytapper · 10/04/2022 08:18

My husbands and sons came up as invalid, still produced a QR code and we are now in Tenerife

wantmorenow · 10/04/2022 08:19

Hopefully it's a glitch and all will be well. Thanks for reassurance.

wantmorenow · 10/04/2022 08:20

I have the QR code and a barstrip - just spanish site saying my codes are invalid

hellcatspangle · 10/04/2022 08:20

Wasn't there a thread on here yesterday saying it's no longer required for Spain? Or did I misunderstand it...

notanothertakeaway · 10/04/2022 08:22

@wantmorenow

The spanish gov site www.spth.gob.es/spain-validator just asks surname and to upload pdf.
If you're stick at the same section I was (1) we all had to include a first name, not just a surname (2) my DD had to include middle name, I had to NOT include mine (3) no requirement to upload the vaccine certificate, but just give details of it, and it was validated

We took vaccine certificates with us (phone and / or paper) but didnt require to show them on arrival in Spain, as all info was on the health form

Hope you get it sorted. "Computer says No" is a horrible feeling

Nixbox · 10/04/2022 08:25

I chose the option of "unable to upload" or something similar - was just underneath the upload box. I then had to fill in date of last vaccine plus the brand. It then verifies it.

Can I jump in please? Flying to Lanzarote tomorrow and trying to work out what we need. I was under the impression we only need covid vaccination passes (downloaded on our phones) Do we still need to fill in forms? If so can you please let me know what I'm looking for? Thanks! 😁

You need a health control form for spain. Link was in the OP. Has to be submitted within 48 hours before arrival

Vaccine certificates on their own, not enough

notenoughtogoround · 10/04/2022 08:31

@Taytocrisps101 you need to fill in a Spanish health certificate form as well as your covid pass - the link is available on gov.uk if you Google travel to Spain. I’m in Gran Canaria at the moment and the tour operator and the Spanish authorities both checked we had this certification (for everyone, including children). It’s not too tricky to complete, takes about 10 mins. Happy holidays

wantmorenow · 10/04/2022 08:32

This is the Spanish gov part. DP upload valid, mine not

@Taytocrisps101

www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/entry-requirements

I thought you needed the online firm. This suggests vaccine certificate may be enough. I'd think better safe than sorry? When we arrived in Spain, they only wanted to see the health control form

Teeturtle · 10/04/2022 08:36

@wantmorenow

The spanish gov site www.spth.gob.es/spain-validator just asks surname and to upload pdf.
I just tried that link, it didn’t even ask for surname, it asked where I am travelling from and to upload the file. Are you following a different link?
Catquestion · 10/04/2022 08:39

@wantmorenow

This is the Spanish gov part. DP upload valid, mine not
I was unable to verify mine on the website for a trip earlier in the year so, as others have suggested, I ticked the ‘unable to upload’ box. I downloaded my vaccine certificate to my phone. Various barcodes were scanned at the airport and all was ok!

Don’t panic!
