My mum thinks 32 is ‘too old’ to get a piercing

I told my mum in passing that I’m thinking about getting a nose piercing and she said that it’s too young a look and that I should be dressing more sophisticated now I’m in my 30s! I’m 33 this year.

AIBU to think this is totally unreasonable of her to think this?

She'd hate me then. I got my nose pierced a few weeks ago and I'm 53 Grin Do it!!

Well, you're never going to get any younger, so when does she think you should do it?

I'm 41, I have ten piercings. 9 are visible.

Ha I asked my mum to get a tattoo so I could see what it looks like on old skin. We have an agreement you are never too old for anything!

i got piercings when I was older then that, then one of them got infected with a flesh eating virus.

never again, my ear thankfully looks like a ear, but its scared, the cartilage is thinner then the other ear and there's a gap in the cartilage that will always be there now.

the injections I had to have in my ear every 2 days to clear the infection where the most painful thing I've ever experienced, it was like being injected with napalm.

I would only get piercings if you really really want them and never thru cartridge areas.

Depends, if at 33 you still always do what your Mum tells you to do. You are an adult now and you are allowed to make your own decisions without checking if your mother allows it.

My long-ago ex told me I was too old at 21 to have pink hair and nose piercing. I believed him for a moment, but deep down knew he was wrong.

Do what you want, it’s your nose. I’m 35 and have a nose piercing.

You're legally allowed to drive, join the arm, have a baby, you don't need your mums permission to get a stupid nose stud!

I got my nose pierced at the age of 23 - I am 49 now and still have it. I have absolutely no plans to ever take it out.

Last year I got a conch piercing and a tattoo. I'm currently trying to decide whether to get a daith or possibly a tragus piercing and what the tattoo on my other arm will be.

If you want a nose piercing, go for it!

I have my nose and belly button pierced, I also have a tragus pin and 18 tattoos - I'm 57! Your body your choice, although I did date a guy who demanded I remove my nose stud, it was "a deal breaker" for him - I removed him Grin
