Skin tag remover bands

Has anyone used tag bands to remove a skin tag?

I put one on this morning and it already seems to be going darker but doesn't seem loose.

How long do they take to drop off? Do I just leave the band on till this happens?

Yikes, I did this on a whopper with some thread last year and totally fucked it up, had to keep re-,tightening the thread which was excruciating and had a very sore swollen skin tag for about 4 months. It did eventually drop off but it was painful and stressful. Hope the band is tighter than my DIY job was Sad

I did this & panicked as it was sore after a few days (quite a big tag). Got my mum to cut the band but the tag turned black, it fell off by itself a few days later.

These are professional ones applied with a plastic cone thing, I didn't fancy my chances with thread Grin

I removed mine with nail clippers Confused

Yes, just leave the band on. The band stops the blood flow, but when I did it, it took a few days for a small tag to dry up and drop off.

PerkingFaintly · 07/04/2022 21:17

Think of it like a scab and STOP PICKING IT! Grin

I had a bloody whopper of a rice crispie on my jawline for years and one day I just lopped it off with sterilised bonsai clippers, it bled for about an hour and that was it. I seriously don't know why I left it for sooo long. There's no scarring there at all.

NrlySp · 07/04/2022 21:39

I did not even know this was a thing - heads off to Amazon

Datgal · 07/04/2022 22:26

I've removed my own with dental floss 😂 Took about a week or two. But worth it!

I didn't either! The one I'm trying to remove on my back hurts when it catches on my bra it's done my head in for years!

Just snip it off & have a tissue ready to hold over the spot

Oh my goodness … you brave person. Did it bleed?

Good grief you ladies are a tough breed 😮🫣🫡

I’ve a couple but I keep thinking of the pain/blood if I was to amputate 😮

starrynight21 · 08/04/2022 05:41

I remove mine with nail clippers - I have a tube of local anaesthetic gel so I just dab some onto the tag and leave for half an hour to go numb. Then just clip the tag off . It bleeds for a while , just stick a plaster on it for a day or two. No scarring .

Snozzlemaid · 08/04/2022 06:05

I've removed loads by tying cotton around mine.
Cover with a plaster and leave alone and they'll drop off in a week.

LimeSegment · 08/04/2022 06:08

I cut one off with a scalpel. It hardly hurt or bleed and healed perfectly.

Fizzystar1 · 08/04/2022 06:16

I have, it took 8 days for mine to fall off.

Norgie · 08/04/2022 06:37

Like a previous poster, I used cotton on one that my DH had on his eyelid of all places.
A few days later it had dropped off.

strrawberriesandcream · 08/04/2022 20:12

So the band fell off overnight it must have rubbed off when moving in my sleep.

It was swollen and twice the size from having the first band on.

I put another band on but I got impatient and held an ice cube over it for a few minutes then shut my eyes cut it clean off with some nail scissors.

Bled a fair bit but nothing a plaster couldn't handle. Cleaned it with antiseptic and it just looks like a spot that's been picked now.

Cotton thread all the way

EndersGame · 09/05/2022 22:00

doesn't it hurt if you cut them off with scissors ?

StoneofDestiny · 09/05/2022 22:13

You can get something called CRYOTAG that freezes them off. I think that's what docs use if it's serious.

StoneofDestiny · 09/05/2022 22:14

Scissors 😱😱

strrawberriesandcream · 09/05/2022 22:26

Nope didn't hurt and now it's fully healed there's not even a mark
