Skin tag remover bands

Has anyone used tag bands to remove a skin tag?

I put one on this morning and it already seems to be going darker but doesn't seem loose.

How long do they take to drop off? Do I just leave the band on till this happens?

Yikes, I did this on a whopper with some thread last year and totally fucked it up, had to keep re-,tightening the thread which was excruciating and had a very sore swollen skin tag for about 4 months. It did eventually drop off but it was painful and stressful. Hope the band is tighter than my DIY job was Sad

I did this & panicked as it was sore after a few days (quite a big tag). Got my mum to cut the band but the tag turned black, it fell off by itself a few days later.

These are professional ones applied with a plastic cone thing, I didn't fancy my chances with thread Grin

Yes, just leave the band on. The band stops the blood flow, but when I did it, it took a few days for a small tag to dry up and drop off.

I had a bloody whopper of a rice crispie on my jawline for years and one day I just lopped it off with sterilised bonsai clippers, it bled for about an hour and that was it. I seriously don't know why I left it for sooo long. There's no scarring there at all.

I didn't either! The one I'm trying to remove on my back hurts when it catches on my bra it's done my head in for years!

I remove mine with nail clippers - I have a tube of local anaesthetic gel so I just dab some onto the tag and leave for half an hour to go numb. Then just clip the tag off . It bleeds for a while , just stick a plaster on it for a day or two. No scarring .

I've removed loads by tying cotton around mine.
Cover with a plaster and leave alone and they'll drop off in a week.

I cut one off with a scalpel. It hardly hurt or bleed and healed perfectly.

Like a previous poster, I used cotton on one that my DH had on his eyelid of all places.
A few days later it had dropped off.

So the band fell off overnight it must have rubbed off when moving in my sleep.

It was swollen and twice the size from having the first band on.

I put another band on but I got impatient and held an ice cube over it for a few minutes then shut my eyes cut it clean off with some nail scissors.

Bled a fair bit but nothing a plaster couldn't handle. Cleaned it with antiseptic and it just looks like a spot that's been picked now.

You can get something called CRYOTAG that freezes them off. I think that's what docs use if it's serious.
