Why do (some) men do this?

Pee all over the toilet seat.

This happened all the time with my FIL, I would have to wipe and clean the seat after he went home.

I have had a male friend round my house a few times for coffee this month, and he also leaves urine on the toilet seat.

I know I'm generalising, but I find this so weird and, judging by the state unisex loos are often left in, I wonder if some men are just prone to shake it everywhere? Confused

Is this common Angry

@user75 Given the thread literally asks why men do sonmething, why do you object so much that a man comes on to explain? Or arre you not interested in finding out?

Guys should either not make a mess, or immediately clean up any mess. Always.

Man here - I had a DP (woman) who did this in public toilets because she hovered. I know this because I followed her once in a single toilet.

Anyone who does it is a git.

The only reason we hover is cos men have already passed on the seat! Grin

Ugh yes, I'm a woman but have a female family member who does this through hovering, judging by a lot of female toilets it seems to be rather common.

Yes, have absolutely seen wee on the seats in women's loos, I assume either from hovering or from women who stand up to wipe (which means dripping can occur). Have also seen blood on toilet seats and used sanitary towels just chucked unwrapped on top of a perfectly functional bin, instead of being wrapped and put inside. And having worked in pubs where I had to check the loos after closing time, I can definitely confirm that the Ladies was as gross as the Gents.

I always find a lot of Mumsnetters are really weird/obsessive about men weeing. I' grew up in a house with a dad, brother and brother-in-law, and have been with my DP for 19 years, and at no point has the bathroom in either house ever been drenched or stinking of urine, so I don't really understand who the hell people are married to if they think it's impossible for men to have a wee without getting it everywhere. Most men seem to manage perfectly well .

I'm also incredibly baffled that there are people on here who think it's somehow it's normal and OK to dictate how their partners have a piss in their own home. If anyone on here said 'My DH has decided to set a rule for the position I adopt when I have a wee' people would immediately be telling her to a run a fucking mile because he was controlling and creepy, so I don't know why it's considered acceptable for people to say things like 'I have banned DH/DS from standing up to wee in my house'.

I blame both the men and their mothers quite frankly

Why blame the mothers? Their mothers and fathers could've told them to clear up until they're blue in the face, doesn't mean they'll take any notice.

Don't the men ever see the badly missed pisses on the seats, and wipe it off with toilet paper, even off the floor if they aimed too low.. I think some men sometimes have problems with peeing,, as in not one good flow, but little kind of intervals and some dribbles. so it could be hit and miss sometimes., then all they are bothered about, is getting out of the bathroom or toilet room..

I don't think men are too bothered about skid marks in the toilet. I once heard two guys who were just coming out of the men's toilets in a pub a few years ago,, and they were both hysterically laughing about leaving some whopper skid marks and more in the toilets, after drinking a few pints of beer..

How do you know it was her and not someone before her?

I used to go out with a guy whose brother would frequently get kicked out by his girlfriend and would go and spend the night at his mum's house. The state he left the bathroom in was awful, filthy clothes and wet towels dumped all over the floor, piss on the toilet seat, skid marks in the bowl, toothpaste and stuff smeared all over the sink. His mother would get all red-faced and shout and call him disgusting right before going to clean it all up.

My son is 8 and has autism and ADHD, since he's been using a toilet he's been made to clean up after himself if he makes any mess every single time.

And don't start me on the guys who don't wash their hands..

*I used to clean toilets as part of a job. Women's loos were gross compared to the men's.

Saying that, I grew up having to put up with pissy loo and floor thanks to my dad. He would also leave shit there if it did not flush first time.I used to clean toilets as part of a job. Women's loos were gross compared to the men's.*

Most places I've worked I have heard same things from cleaners, worst they have to deal with in men's is a bit of piss on floor, women's are especially vile for some reason, which I don't get as most should get flushed.
