I didn't even realise they did this after 2 years. I've got £60+ on mine!

Lockheart · 31/03/2022 13:00

And? It only applies if you never use your card.

Tyrozet · 31/03/2022 13:03

Only if you haven't used your card within a year - if you use it regularly it's fine.

Fabellini · 31/03/2022 13:05

I don’t think you need to use up your points, you can keep saving them if you want.
You just need to use your advantage card when you’re shopping in Boots.
That’s how I understood it anyway.

JonSnowedUnder · 31/03/2022 13:06

You don't need to use up your points, just make sure you have used the account within the last year.

Tink626 · 31/03/2022 13:07

Why would I need to use my points when I'm saving them up? As long as you use your card at least once a year there is no issue.

KrisAkabusi · 31/03/2022 13:16

You've misread. You just need to use your card once a year to keep them.

Bornsloppy · 31/03/2022 13:20

It doesn't mean what you think it means.

Pumpfive · 31/03/2022 13:22

I wouldn't have known this op as I don't use my boots card much. Thanks for sharing the picture :)

bumpermom · 31/03/2022 13:24

huh? as long as you use your card at least once a year you are all good. I use my at least once a week. I save them and use them either at Xmas or before a big summer holiday.

Slagertha · 31/03/2022 13:24

It's a helpful post, not everyone would know this? No need for arsey responses...

Coronado2 · 31/03/2022 13:30

Boots emailed me this this morning, but they specifically said it didn't apply to me as I regularly use my card.

All cardholders got an email
Youdoyoutoday · 31/03/2022 13:34

I wish there was one card for all shops! Much less faffing!

londonrach · 31/03/2022 13:44

I not got an email so thank you op. I honestly can't remember the last time I used boots since they closes the one in our town. I'll use it next time I go to the big town

BunnyBerries · 31/03/2022 13:48

You don't need to use up the points.

Just use your account once a year.

I haven’t had an email, and it’s been nearly 2 years since I last used mine, so I’m very grateful to the OP for the information. I need to have a spree with my current points!

StrangeCondition · 31/03/2022 13:51

Thanks OP, I had £50 worth of points on mine which I would have lost as I rarely use my card - these were coming up to 2 years.

Not sure why you've had arsey responses either, I didn't know and haven't received an email

Noln · 31/03/2022 13:51

The asterisk says
*Usage requires your Advantage Card to be used in a transaction, in store or on boots.com, when either collecting or redeeming points.

So don't need to use! I misread to begin with too OP.

Ornamentalcabbages · 31/03/2022 13:55

I've been unable to use my card for about 2.5 years after it was frozen due to the security blip Boots suffered back in 2019.

After just having a baby I never got around to ringing them up and activating the new card I was automatically sent (other things on my mind!), and have now found out I've lost out on £30 worth of points as honestly wasn't aware they'd expire... Gutted Blush

TooMinty · 31/03/2022 13:59

I have just logged on to check my balance and I've got £30. What should I spend it on though? I barely wear makeup now and we don't have a bath anymore. Have got two big bottles of perfume. Anyone got any suggestions to treat myself?

You don’t need to spend them if you use your card more than once a year. OP’s got hold of the wrong end of the stick.
Ilostit · 31/03/2022 14:06

Oh right - I see! Well it’s still helped some people who haven’t used their card/or won’t and perhaps even forgotten they have points!!

I’ve just bought 2 boxes of Covid tests with mine. I know how to treat myself Grin

Yep, me. I bought a load of Christmas presents with mine in 2020 and haven't used my card since and probably won't this year so I'd definitely have lost them.
