Ive been feeling gradually worse over the last week or so, lateral flowing regularly and all negative including the one this morning, has anyone else had these symptoms:

 • headache
 • upset tummy
 • feel like im swallowing glass
 • blocked nose
 • dry cough on and off
 • skin feels extra sensitive, especially my legs. I couldn't get comfortable last night just kept moving my legs all the time, they felt sensitive but also like they were on fire
 • feel exhausted
 • feel weirdly dizzy and lightheaded every so often

I have no fever. I know there's other things going round so must be something else but god i feel awful 😭 anyone else!?

You need a PCR if you have symptoms.

Theworldisquiethere · 30/03/2022 06:53

Flu?

NashvilleQueen · 30/03/2022 06:53

Certainly sounds like covid. I would have a PCR

Calyx72 · 30/03/2022 06:54

Do a PCR in case. Often neg lfts but symptoms (throat especially) is covid and the lfts go positive in a few days.

Could just be a throat infection or a flu

girlmom21 · 30/03/2022 06:59

Took a long time for the covid suggestions didn't it Grin

If it's not covid it'll be another virus.
Drink plenty and rest.

NatM15588 · 30/03/2022 07:19

Those were the exact symptoms I had with covid maybe you should take a pcr.

StrawberryStarfish · 30/03/2022 07:21

That’s exactly how I felt with Covid

Duracellbunnywannabe · 30/03/2022 07:22

Same symptoms i had with covid 2 weeks ago. @girlmom21 1 in 16 people currently have covid so it is the most likely virus.

Jammysod · 30/03/2022 07:23

PCR test centres are closing today, so book quick if you're getting one.
Does sound like a virus of some description though.

Herejustforthisone · 30/03/2022 07:23

To be honest, that’s a pretty standard list of symptoms for a winter flu-type bug.

Bickles · 30/03/2022 07:24

After Friday we won’t be able to PCR.
Rest, fluids, paracetamol, stay at home until you feel recovered may have to be our new mantra.

WishIwasElsa · 30/03/2022 07:28

There is going to be no testing for most people from 1st April so getting a pcr would prob be difficult. If you feeling poorly just stay away from others til you feel better as much as possible

anon2022anon · 30/03/2022 07:29

Those are all the symptoms my DP had. Covid tests were negative, but it took about 3-5 weeks to recover from the acute illness from it, the GP said probably covid followed by post viral fatigue syndrome. He still has some exhaustion, altered taste and smell now 6 months later.

Sympathies to you, it sucks and it's exhausting. The only way through is to rest.

Spinakker · 30/03/2022 07:30

Itchy sensitive skin could be your skin reacting to a virus. Sounds like could be covid or another respiratory virus.

girlmom21 · 30/03/2022 07:31

@Duracellbunnywannabe

Same symptoms i had with covid 2 weeks ago. *@girlmom21* 1 in 16 people currently have covid so it is the most likely virus.
Which is exactly why OP would already have considered that
incognitoforthisone · 30/03/2022 10:14

I had Covid in January and then a different virus in February. There are loads of viruses about.

Outlookmainlyfair · 30/03/2022 10:15

Same as my symptoms for covid!

MardyMandy · 30/03/2022 10:36

Same as my dds symptoms for covid. She didn't test positive on lft until 3 days in.

Duracellbunnywannabe · 30/03/2022 10:38

@girlmom21 but LFT only normally show positive a couple of days after symptoms.

Mydogsbetterthanyours · 30/03/2022 10:44

Thanks everyone. Just looked at my tonsils, they've got white patches on, so painful when swallowing. Do I need antibiotics for this or is this something that will clear with rest and fluids? Don't want to bother the GP unnecessarily.

MedusasBadHairDay · 30/03/2022 10:45

Sounds similar to what I've got at the moment. Pretty confident it's not covid, given I had covid less than a month ago and the LFTs are showing negative.

Just a cold/flu I imagine. I think I'd got too used to my kids not bringing every other bug home during lockdown. Was nice while it lasted. Shame that we didn't learn as a nation that maybe expecting people to go to work/school with bugs wasn't such a good idea.

Aprilx · 30/03/2022 10:46

I have similar symptoms at the moment,, I tested positive on a lateral flow test as soon as my symptoms started. So sounds like you have another random winter bug.

TroysMammy · 30/03/2022 10:48

I had a very mild sore throat and runny nose and my LFT was positive. I'm now day 6 and it's still positive even though my symptoms went a few days ago

TroysMammy · 30/03/2022 10:52

I first had symptoms last Wednesday night, nothing before, took a LFT at 6am Thursday morning and it came up positive straight away.

girlmom21 · 30/03/2022 10:52
@girlmom21 but LFT only normally show positive a couple of days after symptoms.
You mean the symptoms op has had for almost a week?
