Yet the only job her firm offers….is an unpaid internship.

The fucking cheek of her. Not everyone was lucky to be born in to richness

Planet privilege. As proven by the internship, unpaid internships are for the wealthy. She has zero idea what it's like to work a normal job and be worried about bills etc.

I just don’t get how dense that stupid woman can be

I mean, so many people now can’t afford to heat their house, eat decent food or fill their car.

All of the opportunities she’s had to get where she is now (astonishingly rich as opposed to just very, very rich) have come about because she was born into wealth. She’s kidding herself if she believes otherwise. I don’t doubt she does work, but she’s always been lucky to “work” at things she’s passionate about, rather than a minimum wage job she has to work 60 hours a week just to afford to exist. People fucking work, Kim Hmm

I know the US system is different, but I can't imagine what sort of 'school credit' is due for working as an unpaid gofer to a multimillionaire. I'm sure there are many charities in LA to gain such credits at.

Why do some people think that they are the only ones working?
Where has this idea come from that collectively we're now all work shy? Surely most of us are working our arses off- we're just not special enough to believe we're the only ones who's ever done a hard days graft.

To be fair to Kim she (or really her mother) basically created their jobs. They took what Paris Hilton started - being famous for absolutely nothing except being slightly pretty and rich, and absolutely ran with it.

They do work very hard but I agree that if they were not already rich, and rolling in the circles that they do, the opportunities would not have been available. Kim was dating an NFL player at the time the show started, her previous boyfriend from the sex tape was a famous singer, her father had associations with OJ Simpson that the family exaggerated to make out he was his lawyer that won OJ the case, they went to private school with Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie etc. They certainly used those connections to their benefit and in novel ways, but without that privilege the opportunity would not have been non-existent.

Also disappointed to learn that the family business does not pay its interns.

What I find most out of touch about her statement is the fact that she addressed those comments WOMEN. Women who already bear much of the mental, care and household load at home and in jobs . It's easier to work hard at your businesses and creative passions when you have 4 nannies, housekeepers and private jets. For a lot of women, the spare time to dedicate to passions is just not there. It must show that she really has no idea of the realities of balancing work and motherhood for most women.

To be honest I agree with her - within certain contexts .

I work in an extremely well paid and privileged industry and I'm seeing such a huge rise in people being so lazy and entitled . Making crazy demands . When we are even lucky to have high paid jobs in this economy !

Many people expect the earth from the company but aren't willing to put the work in ( we have crazy huge benefits probably worth around 30% of an already high salary!)

BUT these comments don't apply to the majority of people who are working hard and struggling to make ends meet in this world of rising costs and stagnant wages

I agree, when you have that much money between you all, you can afford to pay your interns ffs.

It’s mad to think that Kim used to be seen in the background of shots of Paris Hilton who was one of the most photographed women on the planet when I was about 16 or so. Wasn’t kk her wardrobe manager or something? Not stylist but like organised her clothes?

So even though she's over paid for everything she wants somebody to work for her for free!? Isn't she trying to be a lawyer? I respect the effort she's put in to that but she hasn't a clue generally.

I had a bit of this attitude when after a few years on single parent benefits i was trying to get back in to the workplace and it was really hard to get a the job offer. A few friends said I would need to volunteer first before I could HOPE to get a paid job. I suppose they viewed me as some sort of hopeless case (having been on benefits) and that I needed to rehabilitate by volunteering. It really annoyed me as I was broke, I had volunteered in the past when my dc were smaller, at meals on wheels and in a nursing home, and now I needed to WORK FOR FREE???

If people are workshy then she is partially responsible. Her and the sort that tell young people that taking pictures of themselves and selling diet pills on instagram is a lucrative and desirable career. Of course young people want the easy and glamorous life that YOU promote, Kim.

She's said this sort of thing before, talked about how she built her business, 'worked her ass off' etc...
It is unquestionably easier to make money when you have money to start with. And her career was launched by a sex tape, not her hard work, a sex tape.
