She has said “get off your arse and work. No one wants to work anymore”

Yet the only job her firm offers….is an unpaid internship.

The fucking cheek of her. Not everyone was lucky to be born in to richness

I would pay as much heed to Kim Kardashian’s opinion on ‘work’ as much as I would the opinion of that slug I nearly stood on this morning

thefatpotato · 12/03/2022 09:46

Being generous, I would hope she's talking about a subset of already privileged women who don't want to work for what they have (because their parents/husbands provide for them).

If she really is talking about the Average Jane, then...wow.

Why2why · 12/03/2022 09:47

Why are you taking this so personally and letting it rile you up like this? Does Kim Kardashian even care about what you think? Your ranting won’t affect her bank balance. Save your energy for something more important in your life.

I’m not Confused

I personally think it was a sly dig at Kourtney...

Peoniesandpeaches · 12/03/2022 09:58

In my experience it’s the wealthy who don’t want to work.

Ivyonafence · 12/03/2022 10:00

How the fuck do they award college credit for wrapping presents and organising the motorised toys of rich children?

What degree would that count towards?!

MillenialInDenial · 12/03/2022 10:08

It's something she's said to Kourtney repeatedly who has cried about not wanting to work but wanting the extravagant lifestyle that comes with the name Kardashian.
In the same sentiment we're not all offered tv shows because of a sex tape leaking the majority of us would be devastated.
The privilege her and her sisters have goes straight over their heads.
Kylie's worse imo born into believing that minimal effort gets you millions, the Astroworld tragedy proved how detached they are from reality filming an ambulance in the crowd while her partner kept playing as multiple fatalities were happening is unforgivable.

elbea · 12/03/2022 10:18

Jenner Communications isn’t her business is it? She isn’t a Jenner.

I had to do a one year internship as part of my degree, I was lucky that they paid me £3 an hour apparently whilst they charged out my time at £75 an hour to clients. I had to get a weekend and evening job so worked 8 - 5 then 6 - 11.30 weekdays and 12 - 10 on weekends. It was hellish.

Jvg33 · 12/03/2022 10:21

It is very silly of her. Lots of people graft every day but can't afford the same luxuries

WomanStanleyWoman · 12/03/2022 10:22

@DevonTF

She made her money and fame from a blow job. Someone needs to let her know, although it includes the word 'job' - it isn't actually work.
It depends on the cock Grin
WonderfulYou · 12/03/2022 10:24

I really like her but I hate when people say things like this!!

It’s like when someone says everyone has the same 24hours - no they don’t!

Yes she’s worked very hard but her dad was OJ Simpson’s lawyer and her step dad was an Olympic champion - so she hardly came up from the street.

However some people do expect things to just be handed to them so of course she does have a point but she’s the wrong person to be pointing that out.

WonderfulYou · 12/03/2022 10:25

Oh yes I bet it was!

goldensilver · 12/03/2022 14:24

@TracyMosby

unpaid internships are for the wealthy This. And we have the same issue over here too. There are far more opportunities available if your parents can fund you.
Very true. Years ago I spent all my savings on a prestigious make-up course in London. I was determined, great work ethic, never missed a day of my course and got excellent results. Towards the end of the course a working make-up artist came in to speak to us about the business side. She explained that we would need to work as an assistant for free for approx 1 year before getting any paid work. There was absolutely no way that I could do that. The only people who ended up working in the industry were the girls who had extremely rich parents to support them.
Hospedia · 12/03/2022 15:08

Like many people who have benefited from privilege, it's the old but I managed it with my money, my opportunities, and my connections so there's no reason why you can't manage it too". Completely tone deaf and shows a lack of understanding of the barriers faced by other people.

I do think it's possible to disagree with her without slut-shaming her or making nasty comments about her appearance though.

That what I was wondering. Can't be towards any degree worth having.
Sceptre86 · 12/03/2022 18:55

She doesn't understand or appreciate her levels of privilege. I don't doubt she works hard at promoting herself and her many businesses but having a nanny for each child, cook, cleaner housekeeper, driver all helps facilitate this. I could work all the hours god sends in my profession and whilst I will earn well it still won't be anywhere near enough to have the 'help' she considers normal. It isn't a level playing field and she is being unreasonable to say it is. She isn't someone I look up to and whilst she has a shrewd business head I don't think much of her. Her career was launched by a sex tape and a shrewd mother who turned it into a business opportunity to propel her children into more wealth and fame.

Calandor · 12/03/2022 19:13

That's not her firm it's her mothers firm.

streamee · 12/03/2022 19:15

@YouHaveYourFathersBreasts

All of the opportunities she’s had to get where she is now (astonishingly rich as opposed to just very, very rich) have come about because she was born into wealth. She’s kidding herself if she believes otherwise. I don’t doubt she does work, but she’s always been lucky to “work” at things she’s passionate about, rather than a minimum wage job she has to work 60 hours a week just to afford to exist. People fucking work, Kim Hmm

So yeah to sum up, KK can get in the fucking bin.

She rich because of a sex tape
NovemberRain2 · 12/03/2022 19:36

Katharine Ryan had a good take on the podcast this week. Essentially, when someone makes a comment, it is unlikely to apply to, be aimed at or be relevant to Every Single Person. KK was most likely talking about her peers who sit comfortably on their own inheritance, not about or to a single mum trying to raise 5 kids.

Not everything is about "you".
