To think the press need to leave Chelsy Davy alone

I see the likes of the Sun and Daily Mail have several photographs taken on different days of Chelsy Davy ( who is Prince Harry’s ex girlfriend) in case you haven’t heard of her. She and Prince Harry split up about 12 years ago.

AIBU to want the press/media to leave her alone, I see no reason she needs to be in the media and from what I gather she doesn’t court the media or has an interest in being in the public eye.

Are there any stories to go with the photos? From what I've read before, tabloids tend to publish seemingly random pictures of someone for no apparent reason when there's something bubbling under which they can't actually report at the present time.

I'm not a Daily Mail or a Sun reader and had no idea she was in the tabloids. I expect many others had no idea either until you started this thread.

If you read the gutter press that's your choice but why are you drumming up revenue for them here?

The press ( some of the press ) can't believe that Harry didn't marry her and won't leave it alone. She deserves a break and to enjoy being a new mum and they need to stop all this.

She’s apparently just had a baby, but still an ex of Prince Harry from more than 10 years ago doesn’t need to be in the news just because she’s had a baby.

She had a baby in January - the press just found out about it somehow and ran a few days of "OMG Chelsey Davy just had a SECRET baby" which was awful as she's not in any kind of public life and therefore presumably didn't realise she had to tell the Daily Mail she was pregnant to avoid being accused of having a SECRET BABY.

Then they 'outed' her baby daddy a few days later - poor couple.

Its just goady shit because Harry is suing them so they're running totally unrelated 'stories'. Kind of like when you go to a school reunion and someone points out how great your ex is doing in an effort to make you feel shit or sort of like Bullseye when they used to go "here's what you could have won!" before wheeling out a speedboat. It's the gutterpress being catty.

I’m not a massive Meghan fan but I think there’s a subtle ‘the one that got away who he really should have been with’ feel from the evil tabloids, possibly because she is blonde and posh and ticks various other boxes they approve of which Meghan doesn’t…

But I haven’t seen these stories, and if you are reading them in the daily mail or sun there’s a pretty easy fix for it…

It was one article r.e. a secret baby. It hardly seems as though they're camped out on a tree outside her house. If you continue to read the Sun and the Daily Mail this is the type of content you're going to read. Not sure why it shocks you tbh.

The press don’t know when to leave people alone, apparently she split with Prince Harry as she didn’t want to live in the spot light and be a Royal, so what if she has had a baby I know she got Married a few years ago, good luck to her but the press should leave her and her family alone.

I agree - I saw that article and just thought, my god they went out a decade ago! And then I’ve seen a couple of other articles like, Chelsy out for a run.
Although I am slightly interested (because I’m bored stuck at home with covid) I made a specific decision not to click on the article as I feel sorry for her and figure the more people that click the more the papers will think that she’s newsworthy.
I’m sure my lonely click doesn’t make much difference but I guess if enough people don’t read it they’ll stop bothering her.

It's not even subtle. One of the DM headlines - I didn't read the article - was about how the baby would have been treated if she and Harry were still together and had the baby together.

She didnt want to marry him, not the other way round and I think the reason was for this sort of thing, being hounded by the press

Plus it helps continue the negative narrative against the Sussexes.

If Harry steps in to make a statement saying to leave her alone then he still cares about his ex, they can hint about Meghan being jealous, it continues the attitude of "why is he making statements when he wants to be private" thing.

If he doesn't make a statement then he's sturned his back on his friends, Meghan is jealous and won't let him help, he changed/she's changed him, further evidence that he's estranged from those who care about him, etc.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't.
