To think the press need to leave Chelsy Davy alone

I see the likes of the Sun and Daily Mail have several photographs taken on different days of Chelsy Davy ( who is Prince Harry’s ex girlfriend) in case you haven’t heard of her. She and Prince Harry split up about 12 years ago.

AIBU to want the press/media to leave her alone, I see no reason she needs to be in the media and from what I gather she doesn’t court the media or has an interest in being in the public eye.

@Gilly12345

The press don’t know when to leave people alone, apparently she split with Prince Harry as she didn’t want to live in the spot light and be a Royal, so what if she has had a baby I know she got Married a few years ago, good luck to her but the press should leave her and her family alone.
Yes I thought both Chelsy and the ex after (Cressida?) split with Harry as they tried the life of being in the public eye and realised they couldn’t deal with it long term. Sensible. I thought they all got on still. Seems very inappropriate to still be followed by a pap around 10 yrs later.

@NowEvenBetter: 'breeding'. Why use a word you know we only use for animals, is CD an animal?

sweetbellyhigh · 10/03/2022 00:50

Well they would if people like you didn't click on them.

Catflapkitkat · 10/03/2022 05:40

Not really, she did a big photo shoot and interview with Tatler in 2020 when she was launching her jewellery company. She didn't give away any 'royal' secrets. It was a fluffy interview but I would say that was (minor) a trade off on who she had dated in the past. Lots of new businesses would welcome that kind of publicity.

Having said that, the last time I had seen her in the public eye was at at H&M's wedding.

If you think she should be left in peace, stop talking about her.

NowEvenBetter · 10/03/2022 08:28

@midsomermurderess why tag me to whine about a word? Can you get over it? Do you think humans are special and need special words related to their reproducing? Sounds like a you-problem. 😄

grapewines · 10/03/2022 08:34

If people stopped clicking they'd stop publishing.

TheKeatingFive · 10/03/2022 08:41

She didnt want to marry him, not the other way round and I think the reason was for this sort of thing, being hounded by the press

Exactly so it's very shitty behaviour of the press to keep hounding her now

I’m not a massive Meghan fan but I think there’s a subtle ‘the one that got away who he really should have been with’ feel from the evil tabloids, possibly because she is blonde and posh and ticks various other boxes they approve of which Meghan doesn’t

Totally agree, but it's not even subtle. And particularly unfair given that press attention was a big reason chelsea wanted out.

TulaOfDarkWater · 10/03/2022 09:33

She split with Harry over a decade ago & the press have more or less left her alone all this time so why start following her now? It could be to have a dig at Harry and Meghan sure, or perhaps it’s got something to do with raising publicity for a certain jewellery & travel company who have recently signed up with a PR firm in preparation for a big launch this summer. Also it’s a bit odd to start a thread admonishing the press for not leaving her alone when all it actually does is draw more attention to her… anyway you seem to be new here OP so welcome!

In other new, Mumsnet is a target demographic for aforementioned jewellery & travel company Grin

The trouble is as soon as there has been a royal connection, then it seems to go on for ever. As I recall she split from Harry as she disliked all the attention from the press. Hopefully they will tire of it .the only ones left alone are prince edward and his family. Yanbu
