Ryanair flight - seatbelt size

Popsnapandcrackle · 06/03/2022 15:09

Aibu to be really worried about the length of the seat belt on a Ryanair flight? Are there are any Ryanair cabin crew on here that could offer advice please… what is the daft length? I’ve googled and it says 30” which seems really small.
I’m a UK 18/20

Correct length - that should say

A size 20 woman would be fine with a Ryanair seatbelt.

Most planes also carry belt extenders on board just in case, but you won’t need one.

Serenity45 · 06/03/2022 15:12

Not cabin crew, but I'm a size 18/20 with a belly and they fit me without being tight or needing to extend to max length. Regularly use Ryanair as have family in Ireland.

Chemenger · 06/03/2022 15:13

Remember the seatbelt doesn’t go right round you, just from one side of the seat to the other. They have extenders if it’s a problem (it won’t be).

luxxlisbon · 06/03/2022 15:13

All airlines do extenders if needed.

Lovelteers · 06/03/2022 15:13

I'm a 20 and can just buckle the RA belt on older planes, newer ones tend to have longer belts.
They around the same as Easyjet in my experience.

Svara · 06/03/2022 15:14

Remember it only has to go across, not all around like a 30 inch jeans. Seat width is, what, 17 inches? So a total of 47 inches?

Lovelteers · 06/03/2022 15:14

I'm big hipped, hence the tightness!

LubaLuca · 06/03/2022 15:15

That 30" belt doesn't need to go all the way around your circumference, it's from one side of the seat to the other.

Lovelteers · 06/03/2022 15:16

'I’ve googled and it says 30” which seems really small.'

the average for planes is 47" which is the belt 'length' plus seat size.

Popsnapandcrackle · 06/03/2022 15:20

Thank you all so much - you’ve made me feel so much better… only a month to go until the moment of truth!

How did you get on? I’m interested to know as currently having a similar panic!

You can ask for a seat belt extender if the belt doesn't fit

Adsd · 31/05/2022 18:27

How did you get on? I've got front row and can't have extender there so I'm wondering whether to risk it or move

Size 22, always have a seatbelt extension.

gabsdot45 · 31/05/2022 18:35

At my heaviest I was in a size 22-24 and a Ryanair seatbelt just about fitted around me.

ILoveAndrew · 31/05/2022 18:45

Hiya OP.

I regularly travel Ryanair and have been on all their types of plane. I'm a size 26/28 (fatty me!) and the seatbelts are fine for me, only just though so you'll be fine. Enjoy your flight!

AfsZah · 11/06/2022 08:10

Im a size 20, going on holiday on ryanair and worried i wont fit in the seats?!
