Aibu to be really worried about the length of the seat belt on a Ryanair flight? Are there are any Ryanair cabin crew on here that could offer advice please… what is the daft length? I’ve googled and it says 30” which seems really small.
I’m a UK 18/20

Did you have to pay for two seats

@AfsZah Nope you will be absolutely fine. I'm a 26 and was fine.

Hello, I've made an account today to specifically comment on this thread and I'm doing the same on multiple sites. I flew with Ryanair today and have had many sleepless nights recently worrying about not being able to do up the seatbelt, sit comfortably etc. I've spent so many hours trawling the Internet looking for reassurance that I'd be okay. There have even been tears to my partner, apologising how I'll embarrass him if it doesn't fit.
So I'm here to tell you - today was absolutely fine.
I'm a UK size 22 (bordering 24) and carry my weight around the stomach. The seatbelt did up with no issues, I had maybe an inch or so to spare. I also fit between the armrests absolutely fine with no digging in and amazingly, even the tray table came down with a gap (albeit it was small). I compared the seatbelt on my partner's seat next to me and it was the same length, so can't comment on how some may be shorter if they've been damaged.
What I will say though is that if you do need a seatbelt extender, it is nothing to worry about. I saw of at least 4 people being given extenders and honestly, no one batted an eyelid. Most people didn't* *even notice, I think I just did because I was more conscious of it. But you know what, I'm never going to see any of those people ever again, so what's the issue?
I really hope this brings some comfort to the people out there who are doing what I've been doing recently. Everything is going to be okay!

Hi all,

I've created an account just to reply to this thread after flying with Ryanair yesterday. I am a size 20 bottom and 18 top. I will say my hips are quite wide compared to other plus size people and that was no issue. I got in the seat itself fine.

I paid for an extra leg room seat thinking it would perhaps be better, but to my horror, the seatbelt only just fit! Yes it fit, but I was so uncomfortable and really had to breathe in just to get the belt to buckle up. I was too embarrassed to ask for an extender so sat uncomfortably. I think the seats were slightly different to the other but I'm not sure....
