My eyes roll so far back they nearly fall out.

RobinBlackbird · 05/03/2022 16:56

Words that make my heart sink somewhat include at the moment: trope.
Just dislike the sound of it and the whole attitude that goes with it.

Lemonweightloss · 05/03/2022 16:57

Uni .
I don't know why.
Maybe it's because, in my day, at least, people worked so hard to get into a university. It then feels lazy to shorten the actual word.

I didn't like the cringing concept either coevtibthink of it so cringe itself should go take a hike!

Me too, but I feel pretentious saying university. Uni sounds shit.

Agree re: "treats" when adults say it about their own food. Treats are for dogs and toddlers.

Basically any baby language used to describe food repels me, puts me off my own food, and makes me think that person is wilfully immature in the rest of their life too.

Yum/Yummy/Nummy/Scrumptious/Tasty
Snack (esp. if used as a verb i.e. "I like to snack on raisins")
Feeling snacky (UGH!)
Munchy
Picky bits
Lip-smacking/Mouth-watering (UUUUGGGGHHHHH!!!)

My slightly more YABU cringe word is "Delicious". It's pretty normal to use it in conversation but I hate it, it sounds so "mouthy" and visceral, as well as pretentious. Half the time people seem to say it when they still have bits of food in their mouths, which makes me want to bolt for the door.
