None of this warmongering, egotistical bullshit from entitled men! Let women take over - we are excellent at multi tasking, will find practical solutions and won’t be pointing nuclear weapons at each other!!!!

Aibu? 😆

While I partially agree I do look at Maggie Thatcher and think yikes!

Letshaveablackcelebration · 21/02/2022 20:43

@CourtRand yea there are some clear exceptions!!

Raquelos · 21/02/2022 20:47

Nah, given the opportunity women are just as stupid, egotistical and entitled as men are in my experience. Human beings are just a bit shit I'm afraid.

TheUsualShitshow · 21/02/2022 20:49

I dunno, have you seen some of the threads round here? Menopausal women have had enough of everyones shit, it would be WW3 within a few weeks.

MrsSkylerWhite · 21/02/2022 20:50

Yes, YABU.
Matriarchy would be wonderful, initially. Fast forward a few centuries and there would be the very same problems that people face living under a patriarchy.
Balance, with proportional representation, is what is needed.

FrippEnos · 21/02/2022 20:50

Power corrupts etc.

EmpressCixi · 21/02/2022 20:52

Nope. Not in favour of anything other than equality. Men and women should be jointly in charge. Women can be just as bad as men.

Letshaveablackcelebration · 21/02/2022 20:52

I think the female instinct to nurture is stronger though generally and might stop the urge to wipe out the human race with nukes over a made up border dispute 😬

Letshaveablackcelebration · 21/02/2022 20:54

@MrsSkylerWhite the problem is the lack of balance and the dominance of the patriarchy currently I guess.

I'm not sure that more people like Priti Patel in power would make the world a nicer, safer place.

waltzingparrot · 21/02/2022 20:57

It would be an interesting experiment if all world leaders were female for the next five years.

RocketPanda · 21/02/2022 20:58

Living under the patriarchy doesn't seem to benefit society much at all.Research Matriarchal tribal societies show they tend to fair better with more distribution and more underpinning of the society as a whole rather than individually.

Letshaveablackcelebration · 21/02/2022 20:59

There are some excellent women leaders about- The Icelandic pm is pretty cool, AOC in the US etc

We should definitely run the world, since we already control the means of production, but not because we would do it any better.
The only kind of people who would be good politicians are the kind of people who don’t want to be politicians, so until parliament runs on jury service I don’t think things will look up.

CockingASnook · 21/02/2022 21:10

I’d not want to live in a world run by Nadine Dorries, Priti Patel or Liz Truss either (or Marjorie Taylor Greene for that matter). Women are not all AOCs and Arderns.

DolphinFC · 21/02/2022 21:10

Could you explain your logic there Footnote. Women should run the world because it's women who give birth? I don't see the connection.

Pyewhacket · 21/02/2022 21:11

I work in a female dominant industry where even the chief executive is a woman and most of the time it is a chaotic shambles, not to mention the bitchiness and grudge bearing that goes on for weeks. Personally I'd rather work with or for a man, anytime.

Letshaveablackcelebration · 21/02/2022 21:17

@Pyewhacket I also work in a female dominated industry and it’s nothing like that. I work with clever, compassionate, organised, dynamic women who do a great job.

CoalCraft · 21/02/2022 21:23

It's hard enough to find good leaders without cutting out 50% of the options.

Letshaveablackcelebration · 21/02/2022 21:24

@CoalCraft well it’s hardly a level playing field at the moment is it?

OP posts:
DolphinFC · 21/02/2022 21:24

I've worked in primary schools for the last 30 years. They have been heavily dominated by women. It's never been chaotic or a shambles or bitchy.

However, many women I've worked with have openly said they would rather work for a male head than a female head.

I agree. The males heads I've worked for have had a far better take on work life balance.

RocketPanda · 21/02/2022 21:26

I also work in a female dominated office, in fact we have one man who does nothing but cause upset and trouble. The women are not bitchy or chaotic and quite often we all work so efficiently together we finish early most days. I work from home a lot more than the rest of them for health reasons and every one of them has been supportive except for the trouble making man.

Speakuptomakeyourselfheard · 21/02/2022 22:08

I take it this is a follow up on my post about whether it would be possible for women to rule the world? I think a lot of you aren't really thinking into it long term. If we were able to get a grip on all of the major positions in the world, government, banking/finance, industry, etc, then employed all women rather than men, I think it could work.

The problem that a lot of you see at present, is that the women that have held the top jobs, ie, the Maggie Thatchers of this world, headmistresses, female CEO's etc. all appear to be just as ruthless and down on women as the men are. That’s because they've had to act like that in order to compete with the men to get where they are. The difference is, that men have always had us women around to give birth and stay at home to nurture the next generation, while they get on with the 'important work' (lol). Whereas women don't have another woman at home to do this for them, so get knocked off their perch the minute they show any weakness like caring about their sick child at home. Men just don't have to do this. However, if we could get enough women in important roles by using guile and cunning, why couldn’t we then employ more women, and at the same time arrange affordable creches, so that there is always proper support for those of the female gender who want to do the top jobs. We could even send men to university to learn how to do the caring role, like we’ve had to do over the centuries. Come on girls, let your imaginations run wild. Let’s hear some positive ideas instead of all this negativity, as it seems to me from what I’m reading, that we really have been conditioned to think that we’re not clever enough, or strong enough to rule the world, which is of course, exactly what has happened, and who did it to us …….MEN!!

Narutocrazyfox · 21/02/2022 22:11

Good lord, no. Balance (as previous posters have said) is what's needed.

From personal experience, I've never had a good experience with a female boss. The very best bosses I've had have been male. Just my own experience of course but you couldn't pay me to work for a woman again!
