... the bowl prep laxatives before colonoscopy?

Have drank one sachet (began at 5.15) and feeling sick. Have not yet started the ... main action... (lol) but wanted to try to drink all before relocating to the bathroom... but not sure if it will be possible. Argh!!

If you can't drink it, they can't do it. It won't happen as quickly as you think so no need to drink it in the bathroom.

Any anyone got any tips on how to drink it? Thanks

Apparently it tastes better cold so bung it in the fridge. Don’t do what my mate did. She drank it and nothing happened so she decided to go to sainsburys. It did not end well…

Brush your teeth first, drink through a straw, make sure it’s cold and if you feel sick stop for 30 mins and sip water.

No leaving the house for me! I have no straw but will put in fridge and brush teeth. Am also putting iglu gel on the front of my tongue and sipping apple juice after to remove taste...

Drink it feeezing cold and through a straw. Try and gulp it down as quickly as possible. I felt sick due to the sheer amount of liquid more than anything else.

You don't need to stay in the bathroom just make sure you're close by and don't wear anything with belt/buttons zips

Put in lots of miwadi.

I found mixing it with lemon squash helped, and drinking it straight from the fridge.

Lick salty crisps or suck slices of lemon to take away taste.

I mixed it with lemonade. Admittedly I can no longer drink lemonade as it reminds me of it now but it made it taste a bit better.

Hold your nose and neck it.

You have to get it down or you'll have to repeat the process another time. Good luck.

Use Vaseline on your ring piece from the off, don't wait till you get sore.

DH put his in his beer mug and made me chant ‘drink, drink, drink’ and bang the coffee table at the same time. He said it reminded him of Uni days.

Are you allowed to drink apple juice? I had a colonoscopy about 15 years ago. Am sure I wasn't allowed fruit in any form, or indeed any bloody food or other drink I did not manage the whole recommended amount of solution, but the procedure went ahead.

OK I'm trying this gulping method but having breaks in between.

I have a plate with a pinch of salt, chili flakes and rosemary, and a teaspoon of marmite and honey.

I have lemon fanta and apple juice.

I have 600 ml to go......

The first time I had a colonoscopy, I was standing at the sink bemoaning the fact that it hadn’t worked before it kicked in. Had to tuck my trousers in my socks to get to the loo.

I’ve had one every year since 2006 btw so I know of what I speak!

Off topic, but am utterly confused about the tucking trousers into socks - how does that help with getting to the loo? I imagine I must be missing something obvious!

@RichardMarxisinnocent I assumed it was cos there was crap running down her legs and to stop it going everywhere but I could be am often wrong
