Is it acceptable at 10am on a Sunday morning? Don't have the best relationship with next door so don't know if I'm being unreasonable but it seems ridiculous to me that someone would be hammering the walls at 10 am on a Sunday morning?! OH also works nights though I know this isn't their problem.

What do you think?

The idea of 10am being early, I think you're pretty alone on that one. Most see that as mid morning, and a decent time of day to be up and doing things.

It's two hours away from the afternoon.

@Ifailed - I think the issue seems more that the household is quiet to facilitate her husbands sleeping, and I know that always skews thinking. As a night shift worker I'd like utter silence until at least 2pm, but also accept that my neighbour with a beautiful lawn likes to start mowing, snipping and blowing at 8am. Living with someone who does nights, and working your whole family around limiting noise for them does give you a skewed perspective I think/ hence why I have ear plugs, white noise machine, and decent curtains as I don't expect or want life to stop because my shifts are the aberration to 'normal'
