To not wear white?

Should the bride wear white to their hen do???

I love so many dresses but no are white! Would you think it better to stick to white? How surprised would you be if a bride didn't?

What? Wear whatever you want.

RomainingCalm · 08/02/2022 10:00

I'm not aware of any expectation that a bride would wear white to a hen do. Wear whatever you like would be my advice.

fenellastripe · 08/02/2022 10:00

I didn't even know it was a thing, wearing white to your hen do.

ISpyCobraKai · 08/02/2022 10:01

Fine, unless you're Geri Halliwell

Bywayofanupdate · 08/02/2022 10:03

I wore jeans and a t-shirt 😬

NonagonInfinityOpensTheDoor · 08/02/2022 10:03

You don’t need to wear white to your hand do. Wear whatever you want. I couldn’t wear white as I’d spill, I’m dreading the wedding itself 😂 I was adamant I wasn’t having a white wedding dress but it’s very white 🙈

AmbushedByCake1 · 08/02/2022 10:04

I've never been to a hen do where the bride wore white...

It's your hen do, please yourself.

Ponoka7 · 08/02/2022 10:06

Brides don't wear white at the hen. At most you get a tacky dress up veil and inflict that on her. But most go with the sashes that say bride-to-be etc.

SleepingStandingUp · 08/02/2022 10:07

Eh? Is this a thing??
I had a small hen do and think my dress with black and purple, then had a large one and was dressed as Cinderella

OldTinHat · 08/02/2022 10:08

White for a hen do, is that a thing? I wore green to mine and wore a scarlet wedding dress on the actual day.

Hankunamatata · 08/02/2022 10:08

Never, ever heard of brides wearing white to their hen do.

stickygotstuck · 08/02/2022 10:08

You don't need to wear white at the hen. Or the wedding!

freelions · 08/02/2022 10:09

I also had no idea it was a thing for the bride to wear white at hen do

Just wear whatever you like that is appropriate for the activity/ venue

CounsellorTroi · 08/02/2022 10:12

I was invited to a hen do where we were asked to wear black so that the white wearing bride would stand out more.

WomanStanleyWoman · 08/02/2022 10:17

I’ve honestly never heard of a ‘rule’ that the bride should wear white at her hen do. If I’d been to a hen do where the bride to be had a white dress on, I’d have assumed she liked the dress, nothing more.

TulipsGarden · 08/02/2022 10:19

I've been to many hen dos and never seen a bride to be wear white. How odd!

IncompleteSenten · 08/02/2022 10:21

No.
Wear what you want

I didn't even wear white at my wedding

PolytheneRam · 08/02/2022 10:25

I didn't even wear white on my wedding day, never mind the hen do.

Traumdeuter · 08/02/2022 10:26

At my hen I wore jeans and then ended up wrapped in white loo roll..?

Heltonwelton · 08/02/2022 10:26

I'm surprised at most people saying that they've never seen or heard of this.

Almost all hen dos I've been to/seen on social media over the last few years have the bride to be wearing white, and then the rest of the group wearing a different colour (often all black).

I don't like the idea, it looks tacky. I agree with others - wear what you want!!

JustForFunn · 08/02/2022 10:32

Perhaps I'm from a different generation! I am a young bride by today's standards.

Every hen I have seen in the last few years has a bride dressed in white.

There is unlikely to be any tacky fancy dress as we are going to the races so will all have our gladrags on

I have literally never heard of the hen wearing white

And heads up, you don't even have to have a white wedding dress 😮

silkcut100 · 08/02/2022 10:41

@ISpyCobraKai

Fine, unless you're Geri Halliwell
Why not Geri?
NotTheMrMenAgain · 08/02/2022 10:44

Had no idea this was 'a thing'. Wear whatever you want. I didn't even wear white to my first wedding and I won't be at my second, either! Nobody died of shock.

thunderonlyhappenswhenits · 08/02/2022 10:50

We was also asked to wear black so the hen was the only one in white, I don't think she cared though to be honest! It was the nightmare maid of honour making the rules up 😆
