Bacterial infection on face. Ex worried I'll be late for the kids

I have what the doctor thinks could be a bacterial infection OR shingles on my forehead and my head is swollen, eyes, nose, all swollen. A big wound that's turned black has appeared from nowhere

Saw doc yesterday and prescribed antibiotics, today it's more swollen and one eye keeps going blurry and weird

Kids are at their dads for tea tonight, I was going to go to a&e to check it's not anything serious, kids dad is worried I won't be back in time to pick them up.

Lol. Guess my AIBU is whether I'm being selfish for wanting to be seen, being silly for thinking it could be something serious?

Has anyone else had something similar?

Something similar in regards to my face. Not the kids dad. He's in a league of his own but that's an entirely different thread.

As the infection is on your face, I think you need to be extra careful, so I would go to A&E to check it out.

Please go to A&E, those are potentially serious symptoms. If you are infectious you need the right treatment because you are looking after children!

Infection on the face that causing blurriness in the eye is serious and needs checking out ASAP, there's a risk of vision loss if its spreads or even if there's shingles involving the eye. A wound going black sounds concerning and that sounds like a significant infection, a&e is the right place for you

If a wound is appearing suddenly and it's affecting your vision that's definitely an a&e or urgent care scenario.
Just tell your ex that you can't take them back if you can't see anyway!

Brilliant, thank you for all the replies. I'll definitely get seen today. Just will have to sort childcare for bedtime as it's inconvenient for him.

A bit of reassurance that I'm not a self entitled arse is always helpful!
