To ask where you get CBD oil...?

Sorry for posting in AIBU but here for the traffic.

Family member has cancer. Due to start radiotherapy but due to their age and general health this may not even happen. She's living in constant pain and nausea and I just want to try anything to help. She's up for giving anything a go, currently at the point where she would be quite happy to give up.

I just want to make her more comfortable and less nauseous (and relaxed if that's a side effect Hmm).

Looking online is frying my brain - I can't tell what's legitimate and what isn't. Friends aren't forthcoming with where they would get it. Shockingly I know I could get THC tomorrow if I wanted, but can't settle on CBD oil that MIGHT actually work.

If anyone has ANY IDEAS thank you.

If you have a good local vape shop, it might be worth asking there. Oil for vapes won't be suitable, but they might know where you can get CBD oil for pain relief, or who to ask about it.

etaussi · 20/01/2022 17:29

CBD asylum is a decent brand. Go for the pokiest strength you can find. It works well to counter nausea and it's kinda relaxing as well

Tbh for cancer treatment or end of life, go the THC route, if they're capable and consenting

zippityzip · 20/01/2022 17:40

I was debating THC route as I have a friend acquaintance who's got it before for vapes but I don't want her high as hell - risk of falls etc. Maybe when it's final days.

Thank you for the suggestions I will be checking them all out. Want to get some in her pronto.

@etaussi sorry when you say pokiest strengths - the CBD asylum website gives it in % which one should I be going for?

Paradise CBD website has a dosage calculator and will recommend different products depending on what you want it for (sleep, pain etc.)

zippityzip · 20/01/2022 18:04

Thank you @OnTheMoonWithSteve I'll check it out!

Cannaray are my preferred supplier. They test every batch and publish the results online so you can check you are getting the strength you are expecting and there is no THC. I did a load of research before buying and Cannaray were listed as the best cheap supplier in several tests - including I think Good Housekeeping!

Excellent I'll check that one out now thanks. What would you recommend dosage-wise for a lady on the larger size who is in a LOT of pain and discomfort.

Just go as high %age wise as you're willing to pay. You can work out dosing for yourself as you go

THC doesn't have to be used recreationally to get the anti emetic and pain relieving effects

Agree with pp who said try to get hold of some actual weed, I 100% would in that situation, and I've cared for a loved one with cancer.

I agree, I wouldn't claim this either, but it is very good at controlling pain

etaussi thanks for mentioning CBD Asylum, I've just placed an order, their stuff looks good & I got some freebies as well. I vape CBD for Fibromyalgia & ME/CFS, it really helps with the pain.
