Pregnant and I don't know if I can use jolene stuff? To bleach

I am always more hairy when pregnant but this is really bothering me now

If I wax I get little Ingrown hairs and acne type things that need me to use an acne cream to get rid of them. I'm not sure what to do, should I dermaplane? Please help I feel so self conscious

? your cheeks look smooth to me. Am I missing something?

HasaDigaEebowai · 19/01/2022 16:50

I’d do it with the little facial/eyebrow razors

CuriousaboutSamphire · 19/01/2022 16:50

Do you mean the wispy bits around your ear?

I can't see that you are hairy?

cultkid · 19/01/2022 16:54

Yes round my ears and my neck towards the hair

Sorry it's dark in here I'm in bed hanging out I'm tired 🙈

Yes I do my whole face regularly and it's amazing!
Only use it on downy hair though, if it's stubbly like the odd sprouted on my tash or chin then I wax that first and then dermaplane.
You can buy a pack of 3 of the special razors from superdrug for like £2, it's a total game changer.
Just make sure you're watch a YouTube tutorial first cos if you don't get the angle right you can easily cut yourself.
I've never looked back

CuriousaboutSamphire · 19/01/2022 17:00

I can't see any more pictures but I can see the first one clearly. There aren't any hairs on your cheeks. You have a bit of fluffy, wispy hair at the back of your jawline. I thought everybody did, especially as you get older - I am 56 and have always had wispy hairs there. It's the thick singleton on my chin I want rid of Smile

VanCleefArpels · 19/01/2022 17:02

Tinkle razors cheap as chips on Amazon. Loads of your ice videos for instruction. Life changing!

cultkid · 19/01/2022 17:03

@ChameNanged19 has it made them thicker? I don't want to get caught having to do it all the time
I would do the very fine black ones and then any thicker ones, I get the occasional chin one I would just pluck?

@CuriousaboutSamphire I feel SO self conscious, I'm at the stage of the pregnancy now where I'm fuller in my face too and just feeling generally very unattractive even though my husband tells me I'm beautiful. You're right they are normal, I just don't like them 😩

cultkid · 19/01/2022 17:03

I'll try the Tinkle ones, I just did a big order from boots but they didn't have any in stock actually

I hope I don't cut myself

My only advice then, is to try and believe your DH, not to obsess about them and try whatever it is you think would be least invasive.

But, if the voice of a stranger means anything to you at this point, they are really, really unobtrusive. I doubt anyone meeting you would see them and think "Ooh, she's hairy!" Honest!

Flocon · 19/01/2022 17:08

Could you get one of those springy things? They look like less risk of cutting your face.

Okbye · 19/01/2022 17:09

I have very dark thick hair which is a blessing on my head but a curse on my body and face!

I’ve got dark (fine) peach fuzz hair all over my bloody face and I hate it! I dermaplane the lot (not eyebrows obvs) and use my IPL on my moustache. Dermaplaning is great! The hair won’t grow back thick like stubble - I was terrified of this happening but it grows back the exact same.
Watch some YouTube’s of people doing it so you know how to prep your skin before and take care of it after, also to make sure you’re doing it correctly and won’t cut yourself👍
I’ve got my own razors (Hollywood Brow I think they’re called) but you can also go for facials that include dermaplaning which is a nice treat to have someone else do it for you!
If it bothers you, get rid of it 😊

Tempnamechange33 · 19/01/2022 17:22

Tinkle razors!!! They are indeed life changing

Returnoftheowl · 19/01/2022 17:33

I dermaplane and have done for a couple of years, an very happy with the results. I use Hollywood Brow tools from Amazon.

cultkid · 19/01/2022 17:36

I've just bought some tinkle ones they will come
Tomorrow, I'll watch some videos and report back

Really appreciate the reassurance and support thank you everyone 🙏🙏 it's good to know it's
Not crazy to dermaplane I was worried it would give me whiskers

Hohoholymoley · 19/01/2022 18:03

How often do you have to do it?

PaddleBoardingMomma · 19/01/2022 18:27

IPL (Phillips lumea 9000) has been a god send, I have really dark thick hair, it's been the name of my life it was bloody everywhere, I'm now hairless from the eyebrows down. Ok it's an investment but lasts 15-20 years and I never have to touch a razor or dermaplane again!

AlphabetStew · 19/01/2022 19:30

I have the Lumea too but I find the hairs on my neck still grow back after a few days. Have been using it a few years.

Sandinmyknickers · 19/01/2022 19:34

I dermaplane but only peach fuzz. Absolutely don't do it in actual hair, no matter how wispy, it will feel stubbly. Only do it on peach fuzz.
I'm not quite clear on which hairs you want to do it on but it sounds like you are talking about actual hair hair, if you get what I mean?

snackodactyl · 19/01/2022 19:36

I can’t see much but things to note:

  • no it doesn’t grow back thicker
  • you’ll find the persistent dark hairs more obvious as they grow back blunt

I have Braun IPL and use it on stubborn hairs in the same place as you OP - it hasn’t zapped them away permanently but IPL is known to slow down growth too. Saw a great routine on TikTok where you cleanse, apply an oil and dermaplane the hair off (I use Lilibet via QVC or Amazon). Then wipe clean with warm flannel and zap my face with the IPL. Am being more consistent with this weekly to hopefully make a lasting impact.

PollyRae16 · 19/01/2022 19:47

I'm pregnant and did mine today. Makes me feel better about myself as the peach fuzz seems to get out of control when I'm pregnant 😂 I just have little eyebrow razor things I found in tkmaxx

VestaTilley · 19/01/2022 20:20

Just leave it - everyone has hair there. It’s totally normal.
