I will be 56 soon - am I too old to wear a bikini?

I am 5'8" with a typical hourglass shape I would say. Cellulite is an issue but it would be in a swimsuit. I have fairly good boobs and I find that a swim suit just squashes them. I would usually wear bikini and a sarong. I don't have major overhang (well not standing up). What's the consensus? If bikini where can I buy one that gives good upper support with a fairly high bottom half? Don't want to spend a lot of money.

Nope, not too old and if you feel you want to you should

PotteringAlong · 12/01/2022 19:10

Absolutely not!

CouldThisReallyBe · 12/01/2022 19:11

Hell no! Wear whatever you're comfortable in.

Neolara · 12/01/2022 19:11

No. Not at all.

PurpleDaisies · 12/01/2022 19:11

Who do you think is going to stop you? Confused

AnyFucker · 12/01/2022 19:11

Give over. Next do good bikinis for —older women— us

TallyHoMyLittlePeachMuffin · 12/01/2022 19:12

I wear one. Never given it a second thought
Try figleaves as they go by bra sizes

NannyOggsWhiskyStash · 12/01/2022 19:13

Bravissimo does nice bikinis, go for it!

Sexnotgender · 12/01/2022 19:13

You could be 156 and still wear a bikini. Care less what other people think.

MarshaBradyo · 12/01/2022 19:13

No chance I like that women all ages wear them when I go on holiday

AmandaHoldensLips · 12/01/2022 19:17

Nope. I'm 58 and have the figure of a potato. Anyone who thinks I'm too old fat or ugly to wear one can fuck right off. I love getting my skin out in the sunshine.

FreshandLively · 12/01/2022 19:17

I'm 52 and wear a bikini on the beach.

I find a swimsuit clings to my stomach and makes it look more rounded than it actually is, plus if you dress old you look old!

Thedogscollar · 12/01/2022 19:18

No there is no cut off age for bikinis.

Luredbyapomegranate · 12/01/2022 19:19

Totally fine.

It’s often more flattering.

Cotswoldmama · 12/01/2022 19:20

You're never too old!

VelvetChairGirl · 12/01/2022 19:21

who cares, wear what you like and to hell with the world.

gogohm · 12/01/2022 19:21

I wear a bikini, I'm fat and middle aged but don't care

DrWankincense · 12/01/2022 19:21

I remember going on holiday as a young 20-something walking along the beachfront. There was a lady who must have been late 60s/early 70s.
She was wearing bikini bottoms and a lovely big sun hat and hadn't a care in the world. And then I thought just wear the bikini. Or just the pants. Be comfortable.

Feelingoktoday · 12/01/2022 19:22

Go any where hot and women of all ages and sizes wear bikinis. Who cares.

Who says we can’t wear a bikini at any age?

StoneofDestiny · 12/01/2022 19:25

As long as you wear it in the appropriate place ie the beach, and not out shopping

UpsideDownTurtle · 12/01/2022 19:31

I love my bikinis on holiday and they really dont have an age limit! Try Curvy Kate or Asda for good mix and match options with bra sized tops and loads of different cut bottoms Smile

StiggyZardust · 12/01/2022 19:33

I'm 59 and overweight. I started wearing a bikini last year. I don't care what people think any more!

DramaAlpaca · 12/01/2022 19:36

I'm a year older than you, OP. I would, and do! There's no age limit.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 12/01/2022 19:38

I really hate hate ageism especially when it comes to clothes. I particularly hate the word appropriate in this context. Do you want to wear a bikini? Yes? So just wear one!

BeaLola · 12/01/2022 19:40

If I get to go somewhere sunny this year and can find a flattering one I shall be wearing one at 53 + very fat and frumpy - why not - I'm now past caring ! ( obv I am assuming that apart from DH I won't bump into anyone I know )
