Just watched Dante’s Peak and now moved on to Daylight. So cheesy terrible effects but it’s nostalgia central.

I like Twister and Volcano. I have to be in the mood to watch certain films, but I could always watch either of these when they come on.

Nixbox · 10/01/2022 20:29

Also Day After and Deep Impact!

TheVolturi · 10/01/2022 20:31

Armageddon!

HunterHearstHelmsley · 10/01/2022 20:32

I love Armageddon! I refuse to hear any negativity about its gloriousness

Q1w2e3 · 10/01/2022 20:32

These are my absolute favourite type of film!

inigomontoyahwillcox · 10/01/2022 20:33

The Day After Tomorrow - and the ultimate for special effects ... 2012, it's AWESOME!

ViceLikeBlip · 10/01/2022 20:34

YABU They are not at all terrible, and are in fact totally amazing.

inigomontoyahwillcox · 10/01/2022 20:35

Oops, sorry I missed you were specifically talking about 90s disaster movies 😳

FourTeaFallOut · 10/01/2022 20:35

Deep Blue Sea...awesome, full cheese!

Godzillaandgodzuki · 10/01/2022 20:37

I love a disaster movie, they are my go to film, very excited about Moonfall coming later this year (I think). I can't wait!!

I love a good disaster film. Watched Contagion at least 3 times during lockdown.

FourTeaFallOut · 10/01/2022 20:49

Oh, yeas, outbreak was awesome too. I'm awfully glad Hancock watched outbreak instead and wasn't taking notes from Donald Sutherland.

Mollypolly2610 · 10/01/2022 22:41

We watched Conair the other night. I loved it the first time but it was a bit cringy the second time.

I hadn't heard about this- just watched the trailer - right up my street!
Bollocks2Covid · 10/01/2022 22:47

Independence Day was another. Absolutely ridiculous.

Catflapkitkat · 11/01/2022 06:19

Love Independence Day

SaskiaRembrandt · 11/01/2022 06:34

Independence Day is the best film ever!

How very dare you. Con Air was the first movie I saw the love of my life, John Cusack, in. Its a masterpieceShock

Manc2 · 11/01/2022 06:57

Con air is great. I also love the core and atomic train

ExcaliburBaby · 11/01/2022 06:59

The rubbish sequel to Independance Day is one of the biggest cinema disappointments of my life! I was soooooo excited for it and it was crap!!!

I love all of the above but think Deep Impact is great too!! Seemed far fetched at the time but I can somehow see a lottery for places in a bunker actually happening now 😬

Diditreallylookawful · 11/01/2022 07:03

Oh I've found my people! Love Dante's Peak ...

PinkTonic · 11/01/2022 07:27

Can I just say that if you love these the 70s is the true heyday of the disaster movie Wink
