people stealing

Why do people keep stealing in general. All the time in the paper or local facebook groups, its my car has been broken into, my bike has been nicked, my shed has been targetted, one estate where i live is particularly having a problem with cars being broken into a night at the moment. They do have cameras and they post the footage etc.

Its everywhere though, whats wrong with people why do they keep taking things that arent theirs? Why have they no morals.

How would they like it done to them?
They are a nuisance all the time to law abiding people and keep causing upset?

Why cant people stop taking what is not theirs? Dont they think of how the people they are stealing from are going to be affected by their actions?

Grrrrr. Sick of seeing it all the time!!

@goawaystormy of course different crimes elicit different of empathy but there is a lot of victim-blaming and a bit too much empathy with criminals.

I have not once victim blamed. All i did was point out, to a person going on about morals, that wanting to gleeful snap off another humans fingers is pretty damn immoral too.

And how can their be 'too much empathy with criminals' when some people are quite rightly pointing out that some of these 'criminals' are stealing out of absolute desperation. Is there an acceptable level of emapthy? Or a limited amount whereby if you empathise with someone stealing to feed their family you can't also empathise with the person stolen from that being a victim is also horrible? I don't know about you but i'm capable of recognising the nuance in these situations and have enough empathy for all involved.

Not everyone is immoral enough to steal because they're poor
There's plenty of poor people who don't resort to stealing, let alone beating to death vulnerable people for their bit of money.
So, I'll stand by my ideal. If you don't like it, then that's not my problem.
Your assessment of me isn't my problem either, quite frankly I don't give any thoughts on your opinion of me, which of course you're quite entitled to.
Cheerio.
