To ask your opinions on Amber Heard and Johnny Depp?

As above really.. having watched the documentary on discovery + and it being in the tabloids most days.. Why would Depp sue for libel and risk his career further (what’s left of it) if he was lying? Because he's a narcissist, and he's fried his brain with drugs and alcohol.

He used to be a really good actor; it's sad to see that talent wasted. I'm sure Heard isn't a great person - there's plenty to suggest that - and it may well have involved mutually problematic behaviour, but there's no question he did abuse her. And involved his friends.

I wouldn't trust a divorce lawyer who insisted that they could tell whether someone had been abused by their demeanour as far as I could throw them. I certainly wouldn't trust a divorce lawyer who implies that it's fine if Depp was so off his face that he didn't realise it was abuse.

She's not perfect. He's verbally and physically abusive.

I meant to reply to this as well. Because he's much too expensive to insure nowadays for the level of box office he gets. Robert Downey Jr had to be backed by Mel Gibson for Iron Man, for example.

What I think of them is all that glitters is not gold.

Amazing houses all over the world, stunning old world yachts, art deco apartments, the worlds greatest clothes designers, best wines... Private jets and all they can do with each other is shit in beds and smear blood on walls.

What are your views?

That two people can be decent with previous/future partners but when they're with that particular partner they bring out the absolute worst in one another. That both partners can be abusive to one another and that no one deserves to be abused in their relationship regardless of who said or did what.

This. I read all the court transcripts while it was on and so my opinion is based on that, not what I've read in the media.

She is not on trial. The whole affair stinks of misogyny and societies predilection to forgive men who commit crimes if they are talented and beautiful and famous. It oft happens with despicable famous men- their "art" clouds societies judgment.

I don't see the relevance of past partners and relationships though, and I think it's useless saying well he didn't hit Vanessa Paradis etc. You don't necessarily have to be an abuser your whole life, or have abused every or any partner, to become abusive at some point.

I found that article very strange. How a 'victim' presents - not in my experience do they always act 'downtrodden'. And as to why he would go down the libel route? Well, because many men who abuse women don't really feel they did anything wrong. They certainly don't see themselves as 'wife beaters'. I have no idea about Johnny Depp himself but it was an obvious 3rd reason as to why a man would act that way.

Past behaviour predicts future behaviour both my ex husband and my father have both had abusive relationships they are both abusers and both get women they can control my dad had a stroke and bizarrely it turned him into a mild mannered man

My opinion is I couldnt give a stuff about either of them.

he was a good actor with a wide range but never really saw the appeal of him past being a decent actor, I never found him attractive, he looks kind of a mess these days tbh.

never seen her in anything.
