To ask what you’re doing today if you have a toddler?

I imagine a lot of people are lounging around watching telly and eating junk but that’s not so easy with a toddler in tow.

DH has taken DD swimming to burn off some energy so that (hopefully) we can just chill out at home this afternoon and play with her new toys. I’m lounging around eating junk until they get back! Yesterday it stopped raining long enough to take her out on her new bike. Tomorrow looks like it’s going to tank it down so might have to brave soft play.

We’ve been to an inflatable park this morning and then home for picnic lunch.
This afternoon we’re going to watch a film and then go for a walk to the paek.

Just doing what we do any other day, playing, painting, baking if I can be bothered. Then it will be time to tidy all their crap away so I can do some cleaning, then I'll be off to work later

Sent her to grandparents for a much needed mental health break. Back in the afternoon and will make pizza together for dinner. We booked a Christmas light attraction for tomorrow afternoon and will probably do playground in the morning (rain forecast all day though).

We have braved ikea to buy more toy storage because he received such a vast quantity of presents for Christmas (not from us!) that we have nowhere to put them.

We went for a hill walk this morning with our 1 and 5yo. Dh carried 1yo in a carrier, he dozed off in it for 30 mins but hoping he'll go for his proper nap soon.
I'm having a hot bath now, dh tidying up and kids are watching the tv.
I'm taking 5yo to a sports class later at the gym and I'll use the spa while he's in it.
Tomorrow we're going swimming.

I took DD to soft play this morning and frankly it was the best thing we could have done - she had a blast, happily went down for her nap, and hopefully will be happy to play with her toys this afternoon.

Tomorrow . . . nursery Grin

Went out to the park this morning on his new balance bike, stopped at the post box on the way (he loves posting letters ...) and the green grocer on the way back (for some leeks). We've made 'flapjacks' together (mashed banana oats milk and any other fruit, today was grated apple and almond butter) , and later he'll help me make a turkey gammon and leek pie for dinner. We've also had a couple of rounds of hide and seek and there's currently a giant brio railway taking over our living room

Soft play this morning, which my DS basically just moaned about. Managed a half hour nap on the way home, he is currently playing with playdoh.

Might try to go for a splash in some puddles this afternoon.

Toys and baking this morning. Painting thank you cards.

Grandma's house this afternoon then books and TV to wind down before bed.

Might brave a play cafe tomorrow. If it warms up a bit we will go to the park and the bus station (he loves buses) but too cold/wet today with a newborn.

It's going to be a long few days!

Went to an outdoor shopping outlet with a playground so DH or I could do a little shopping while the other stayed with the toddlers (1yo and 2yo). Currently both napping and will likely help us with dinner etc and play with toys/in the garden in the afternoon.

DH and I are having coffee and quality street while they sleep.

We all played duplo this morning, then we went to the supermarket. Its almost nap time, then we'll walk to grandparents house the long way round and splash in any puddles we find.

Trip to the supermarket (fun!), hes having a nap now but later we'll go puddle jumping, probably in the rain.

He didnt sleep that well last night and ive had a lot of coffee today

We had a lazy day yesterday - DD played with her new toys, watched The Highway Rat, had a picnic lunch on the floor.

Today, DH took her to see FIL and his dog for an hour or so, then came home for her nap. She'll have lunch now that she's woken up and we'll have a chilled afternoon playing with her toys (she's obsessed with her ice cream counter!)

We played with new toys this morning and have come for McDonald's for lunch because I knew ds would fall asleep on the way and he needs it after all the excitement! Dh has a friend coming later so there'll be that then ill cook and hopefully ds will play some more. Weather is miserable or I'd take him for a wander

We've been out every day for the last week or more including lots of long walks, feeding ducks, forest light trail, looking at people's outdoor lights locally, national trust place, garden centre with model railway, play cafe place, and of.course visiting various relatives.

So today is very lazy. She actually.slept in she was that tired, then we've played with new toys, read about 20 books, sang/ acted out sleeping bunnies on a loop, she's 'helped' with washing and making lunch and now she's asleep on me for a long nap hopefully. This afternoon we might brave a walk if the rain eases off a bit, or might just resort to a bit of tv and/or piling all the sofa cushions on the floor.for her to scramble over.

We can usually get away with one day at home but will have to get out tomorrow if so.

Soft play here is closed. Have them booked in tomorrow at the inflatable park but today we have been up since 5 so done lots of reading, play doh, helping me do washing, played games he got for xmas, more reading, been on a balance bike ride, had lots of tantrums, he's now getting everything out of my kitchen drawers and I've given up. We have 5-6 hours until bedtime. I think I may have to stand in the garden in the rain for 45 mins so he can get some energy released but apart from that I have no idea how to fill the time. Garden and fields are all too muddy/boggy to play any games that will really tire him out.
