Hello,

Could people kindly share the best spa stays/breaks you've been to or one/s that you'd highly recommend in the UK (I don't mind recommendations for abroad too) please?

I'd like to really explore different spas and take time out more often to do so so adding to my list!

Preferably adults -only spas

Also, if anyone has particular recommendations for a birthday break (my bday is mid-March - turning 29!), it would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Rudding Park near Harrogate, fantastic.

Meatshake · 23/12/2021 08:19

Pennyhill park is nice, not sure about accomodation but Nirvana Spa near Reading is a lovely day out too.

Mummadeze · 23/12/2021 08:19

I haven’t been there but i saw the Movenpick spa in Jordan on a travel programme once and have always wanted to go there. Looks amazing.

PieonaBarm · 23/12/2021 08:29

Another for Woodland Spa in Burnley. Has accommodation now too. Won Spa of the Year more than once. Treatments are amazing.

Malvern Spa in.......Malvern not surprisingly. Not stayed there overnight, but been told the rooms are good. The pool has jets, jacuzzi type things and heated to 35°. Also you can start in the pool indoors and then go outdoors. Not really for swimming though. 6 steam/sauna rooms. Very light and bright too

Thanks for this recommendation, Malvern isn’t far from me but I’ve never been to the spa, going to book for DH’s birthday in April.

Ragdale hall definitely the best place I have been in this country

Confrontayshunme · 23/12/2021 12:35

The Scarlet for a weekend. Monart Day Spa in Poundbury for a day. Both insane quality and real care taken for food, safety and comfort. And no kids, which helps.

ThinWomansBrain · 23/12/2021 12:51

sounds lovely - got me itching to book something in January! Befoe you book, do check what spa facilities are actually up and running with whatever stage of covid lockdown we're at.

Fruitinator · 23/12/2021 12:56

Seaham-Hall Spa in Durham.

Best spa-experience i have ever had.

dannydyerismydad · 23/12/2021 14:20

Used to love Nirvana, but the faux Roman decor and murals feel really 90s now.

I really enjoyed the Spa in Bath. The view from the rooftop pool is beautiful and some of the treatments are really special. I adored the couples watsu.

zingally · 23/12/2021 14:21

I really like Ragdale Hall in Leicestershire.

Hesma · 23/12/2021 17:28

Had a lovely time at Thermae spa in Bath in the summer. Watching sunset from the rooftop pool was stunning

rugbychick1 · 23/12/2021 18:19

@MissyB1 you're very welcome. From the outside it doesn't look much and is on one of the trading estates (there's a Premier Inn opposite) but you wouldn't know it from the inside. The rooms are part of the Spa and not at the Premier Inn

Dodgyveneers · 23/12/2021 18:22

Pennyhill is fabulous, as is St Andrews old course spa. I had a very bad experience with Champneys recently- dirty, run down and poor service.

Upupupintheair · 23/12/2021 18:25

Love Nirvana spa!

Eyeskydry · 23/12/2021 18:27

Gaia spa near Plymouth is lovely.

flowerycurtain · 23/12/2021 18:29

Another vote for St. Andrews old course. Followed by dinner in their new restaurant.

Out of this world.

Fairmont in St Andrews also excellent.

bestdhever · 23/12/2021 18:29

Sopwell House in St Albans or Seaham Hall near Durham get my vote. Must book a spa trip!!

Seymour5 · 23/12/2021 18:44

Another vote for Ragdale Hall. Bliss.
