Hello,

Could people kindly share the best spa stays/breaks you've been to or one/s that you'd highly recommend in the UK (I don't mind recommendations for abroad too) please?

I'd like to really explore different spas and take time out more often to do so so adding to my list!

Preferably adults -only spas

Also, if anyone has particular recommendations for a birthday break (my bday is mid-March - turning 29!), it would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Quite partial to the Mandarin Oriental spa in Knightsbridge.
Also loved the spa in Chewton Glen. No others have compared to these two.

In Ireland, the Europe in Killarney is fabulous. Also Inchydoney and Monart. I love Bellinter House in Meath which is a ten minute drive from my house.

Also in Ireland, Adare Manor, which is one of the best hotels in Europe. You would need deep pockets though!

The Scarlet in Mawgan Porth, Cornwall is lovely as is the surrounding area if you want to go for a wander.

Borgo Santo Pietro in Tuscany for a real treat. It's gorgeous!

Centre parcs in warminster, I think they have around 10 different steam/saunas and a lush pool. Lots of different treatments too. Other spas feel boring in comparison.

In Brno, Czech Republic (direct flights from London). Just amazing.

Sopwell House in St Albans

Galgorm Manor - County Antrim. Hands down one of the best hotels/spas and settings I have ever stayed at. Stunning.

SnowySnowSnow · 23/12/2021 03:05

Gleneagles. You can book treatments by time rather than the treatment and they then tailor a series of treatments to suit you - amazing.

OlympicProcrastinator · 23/12/2021 03:09

I second Sopwell in St Albans. Been to a few and this one really stands out.

BarbaraofSeville · 23/12/2021 05:43

No idea about the accommodation, I'm sure it is perfectly nice, but the Woodland Spa near Burnley has to be one of the best in the country.

Abroad, I can't say it's the best but White Suites Playa Blanca Lanzarote looks nice and you'd have guaranteed good weather for most of the year.

South lodge hotel near Horsham. Beautiful!

WildFlowerBees · 23/12/2021 05:54

What is it you're looking for op? I find spas in the UK to be nowhere near as good as places such as Thailand, Maldives or India. Is it the facilities or the treatments? Most spas in the UK I've been to whilst lovely are lacking in the treatment/therapist areas.

bananasinchristmaspyjamas · 23/12/2021 05:56

I second the Scarlet in Cornwall. I felt amazing for about 2 weeks after a spa day there.

Monart is my absolute fave.

Sopwell is really nice but honestly monart is the best Spa ice been to in Europe.

Shoxfordian · 23/12/2021 06:20

I loved sopwell house as well although the rooms are not all as modern as the spa

Aire in Seville is amazing although not a hotel as well

Penny Hill Park in bagshot is lovely

shenanigans5 · 23/12/2021 07:49

I also like Sopwell House. Since they renovated and did the ‘club’ section of the spa it’s been my goto for spa days.
If available still I’d recommend the mews suites for staying overnight as they are much more luxe than the hotel rooms which are a bit tired. And you get exclusive our food hot tub for drinking fizz in.

shenanigans5 · 23/12/2021 07:50

(Our food= outdoor hot tub)

lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 23/12/2021 07:51

@RosemaryRipple yes south lodge is the sister hotel of penny hill park which I mentioned earlier. I love the classical music they play underwater and the outside rock pools at penny hill park.
