Watched the final last night. Both fantastic couples and the dancing was fab. But after the glitterball was given out - wtf? I half expected Rose and Giovanni to start humping right in front of us! Anyone else think all that hugging and kissing and general pawing at each other a bit much?

YABU - stop being an old fart and enjoy the celebration

I was so happy for him. Three times in the final. And I've heard him saying he watched the original strictly when he was growing up. He does always look at his partners like a puppy. I thought he was going to propose to Debbie McGee.

Giovanni is a lot older that Rose I think

Actually he isn't. He's 32 I think and she's 27.

Maybe they are dating and good for them if they are.
I think she has a long-term boyfriend. Interesting that he didn’t comment on the video messages. But that’s just speculation. Who knows what’s going on?
Anyway, I’ve never watched this show before, but I thought it was fantastic.

I just think they were hugging as friends really and happy they won. Surely she wouldn't do that if boyfriend in audience. I am sure he has no problems finding a girlfriend!

I felt like last night was not going to be a competition tbh. It was so clear Rose was going to win before the show even started. It’s the first episode I’ve not watched. I’d have watched if Kai and AJ had danced, even though the winner wouldn’t have changed.

I thought the celebration was fine and was really pleased for them, for Rose because of her journey and how she has bloomed, and for Giovanni because of how hard he worked with her; he was a lovely caring partner to her and they have a lovely relationship. I did feel a bit for John and Johannes, they pretty much got shunted off to the side and ignored.

Also, maybe being a bit thick here but I also found it a bit strange how all the other couples had to stay distanced at their tables when they had all just done a group dance & must have spent loads of time rehearsing and mixing, and presumably they had all done LFTs
